OPinions wanted on a stateroom choice.

Last time we were in a Cat. 4 but I am not paying for that this time. We were not in the room much and won't be next time either. However, we did run back and forth TO the room a lot.

I'm wondering: how different are Cat. 12-10 and 8?
If we book a 12, we'll get an 11 since there are 4 of us. I like the mid ship decks that the 11s are on. How different are a 10 from an 11? (Assuming I can not get a SPR.) Is that worth the extra $?

I do not want to be on decks 1 or 2 since I prefer to take the stairs, etc. Therefore, I don't want a cat. 9. So, I'd have to get an 8 at least for a view.

Therefore: If I don't buy the 8, should I just get the 12? Or is there a reason to pay for an 11 or 10?

Also is mid ship better for sea sickness? I was really sick last time--especially in Animator's! Should I book a room based on sea sickness concerns or are they all about the same as far as that goes??

THANKS!

Hello,
I don't know about the cat of room questions, but the best rooms if you get sea sick is decks 1 and 2 mid-ship. This is the part of the ship with the least movement. Also if your out and about deck 3 at the atrium is a good place to sit for the least movement. If you must get a higher deck for your room, try to stay as close to the center of the ship as you can, it will help.
Good Luck,

In regard to seasickness, the ship will generally move less for you the lower your deck and more central (amidship) your cabin is. However, ship movement is still discernable (especially during weather and high seas) wherever you are onboard, its just a matter of degree.

Well then, in regards to sea sickness, maybe I DO want a Cat 9 on decks 1 and 2.

Is it inconvenient on these decks? We were on deck 8 last time and I LOVED being able to run up one deck for coffee, drinks, to the pool and spa. Howver I was VERY sea sick (didn't gain any weight at least:)

The real problem with picking a stateroom based on reduced ship movement is that a good portion of your cruise experience is outside your cabin (dining, clubs, shows, on-deck). And of course you will feel the ship move to various degrees as you have fun and travel around the ship.

When you are in your cabin, you mainly will be sleeping and relaxing. Frankly, I have found that a little ship movement is actually very comforting as you lay in bed. It’s like getting rocked to sleep!

We did Cat 9 rm 2516 in Feb deluxe ocean view it was a great room used the stairs most of the time and its forward so the elevator is quick ... a suggestion is to order a pot of coffe the night before and it should be hot enough in the morning when you wake up ...
