Choosing a site - 700 loop?

Thinking about our first trip to the Fort, would be renting an RV and no golf carts, so we want to be close to the Settlement. The Preferred loops look so crammed together though, we need some space with our rowdy crew :lmao: So looking at the Premium 700 loop.

I've watched a few videos on youtube that drive by the different sites but can't find a map with specific sites shown (just the loops in general) to orient myself to where we'd want to be.

Looking for sites with the most privacy (i.e. lots of space/greenery between sites) and 703 or 705 look nice, but are those on the end closest to the Settlement, or the opposite end? Anyone have a map that shows specific sites or know offhand which numbers are closest to Settlement? Thanks! :)

734 is the last site in 700 and it is nearest the Settlement area (Trails End, beach, dock). At the other end 701 is nearest the big Meadow Trading Post in the middle of the Fort. So in your case the bigger the number the better.

Have fun!

PS - I have no knowledge of specific sites. Haven't stayed in 700 in 25 years.

We were in site #702 this past Feb. It backs up to the old railroad tracks, which makes for some space between you and loop 800. The site is almost across the street from a CS. The bus stop at the Settlement is approx. 1 1/2 blocks, about the same distance to the bus stop the other way. (Glo says it's 1 1/2 mile);). Real close to the Meadows Trading Post, pool and movies. The site is deep enough to park our 38' fifth wheel and the pick-up with room to spare. The traffic on the main road was not noticeable. Although I am 71 and hard of hearing:rotfl2:.

Question, we just bought a travel trailer and will be going to FW, do you have to stay in Pet loops if you bring a small dog?

Yes and no. We always request a pet loop, but, have been placed in non pet loops a few times. Just be sure they know you have a pet and pay the pet fee. That way if anyone complains you're "OK".

Agree with 2 Goofy campers - just don't try to "sneak" a pet in even if it's a small one. That can cause problems for you and it's not fair to those folks who have intentionally requested non-pet loops-nor is it fair to the dog that might not get all the walks it deserves. If we aren't responsible as pet owners, we might well lose the privilege of having our "fur babies" with us....it wasn't all that long ago that they weren't allowed at all. Enjoy your stay !
