Choosing a different gas co - in MI

We live in MI, currently have Consumer's Energy. Has anyone chosen a different energy supplier? We got an offer from Direct Energy for a fixed rate at 5.05/mcf and a $50 gift card to switch. The current gas price we paid in April was 5.26/mcf. Has anyone switched? I'm unsure of how it works.... Trying to call Consumer's now but on hold foreverrrrr....
