So we left off at Tangierine Cafe with a lovely Lamb Wrap....after touring some of World Showcase we made our way over to Mexico. We actually had two reservations (I know I know insert your lecture here) We couldn't decide whether we wanted to eat at San Angel Inn or try La Hacienda. We looked at the menus online and just couldn't decide!
We went over to the menu posted outside of La Hacienda, and then went into the Mexico Pavilion and looked at the menu at San Angel Inn. We decided we felt like trying La Hacienda so we overheard the Hostess telling walk-ups they weren't taking anyone without an ADR. We ended up telling a party with a mom, dad, and son that they could have our ADR

We had an hour before our La Hacienda ADR, so we rode the boat ride inside and then went outside and checked in at the hostess stand to see if we could be sat early. It looked PACKED so we expected to wait a long time, but we walked in the lobby and we were buzzed!
The Lobby was really pretty, but very small for the size of the restaurant.
That's a picture of the lobby decor, the whole restaurant was very modern and elegant.
There's more waiting area outside, but it was SO cold so most people were waiting inside. The restaurant inside is very pretty, with lots of seating in a few different rooms. All the rooms have large windows that have breathtaking views of World Showcase. There are a mixture of tables, booths, and round booths up on a platform. We were seated at a table in the middle of the room, but still had such a nice magical view of World Showcase
The restaurant was very busy so it was actually quite loud, but I still found it to be quite relaxing because of the wonderful view and decor.
This was our view, sorry the picture is not good quality but you get the general idea of the size of the windows and the setup of the tables.
Our server came quickly to greet us, his name was Juan-Carlos (but his name tag said JC) He was wonderful through the entire meal, playing with Silas, keeping our drinks replenished, and just being attentive but not in our faces all the time. He asked if we had been there before and explained the menu and took our drink order.
Here's the Drink Menu, the Tequila Flight looked really good, but would have been on the floor if I drank that!
I ordered Red Wine and Derek ordered a Beer ( I think XX)
JC also brought some yummy chips and salsa.
There was a green salsa and a red salsa. The green one was slightly sweet and the red was a little spicy. They were both yummy but we both preferred the spicy red one

We asked JC for some tortillas to give little man so he could have a snack while we had our chips and salsa. He brought us a basket full and OH MY GOD they were heavenly!
They were most definitely made fresh and were nice and fluffy, still warm, and absolutely the best tortillas I have ever had. The menu said they were corn, but they tasted like they were a cross between corn and flour tortillas. We started eating them with the red salsa and couldn't stop!
We decided to order
La Hacienda - mixed grill offering flank steak, chicken al pastor, chorizo and vegetables, served with rice, beans, and fresh salsa $49.95
We didn't expect much from this because to be honest the menu description doesn't do it justice...
UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I cant even describe how simply devine the whole platter was! We ate so many tortillas, but we still somehow ate almost the entire thing...they served the platter with more tortillas and I think we polished those off too

The flank steak we ordered medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. It was so tender and the marinade was awesome. The chicken was probably our least favorite item on the platter (although we still ate it all) because it was kind of dry but had lots of flavor. I think it may have been smoked. We shredded some on the chicken up for Silas and he ate it right up! We also made little tacos with the steak and chicken in the tortillas...ok my mouth is officially watering as I right this! I have to take a snack break
Ok I'm back....
The little mini chorizos were also absolutely amazing and had a nice bite to them. They were packed with flavor and I seemed to eat most of them

The platter was complimented with some grilled veggies including peppers, squash, pearl onion, corn, and chilis. The corn was topped with some queso fresco and yummy yummy yummy. The veggies we used to make the little tacos too.
Overall we left stuffed, happy, and raving to the manager about how wonderful the service and food was. We will absolutely be back on our next trip!
