Hi!

I found some good rates for my solo trip in Sept.; 69/night Value, 104/night moderate.

Having a hard time deciding. I know some pros and cons between value and moderate--I am thinking, on the "pro Value" side, that the money I would be saving staying at Value resort (40/night) would almost pay for the cost of my meals. Of course, many thoughts on the "pro-Moderate" side: nicer surroundings, experience new resort my way, pleasant evening strolls...

Anyway, right now I am leaning toward these three options: All Star Music, Port Orleans and CSR.

Any thoughts, feedback appreciated, of course!

We have stayed in all four types of resort on property. Personally, I don't see that added value for the expense of the moderates. I hear the rooms are bigger, but I didn't notice. The themeing of the values is way more fun. I always recommend that you go with the value or shell out a bit more for a deluxe.

Sounds like you should select a value resort, since you do not sound like you have any criteria to justify or support selecting a Moderate. There is a reason Disney has three resort criterias (budgets), so don't feel compelled to select the next level of resort. You might want to review or develop a criteria defining your needs and requirements of what you want your resort to meet...then compare each one to the criteria.

Critieria could outline resort theme, room cost, room availability, is new resort experience important?, transportation options, travel times, access to restaurants, resort services, resort restaurants, food court, rehab or construction activities underway, resort pools, etc...

Your needs should make this decision easier.

Thank you for your input. It is true that I can probably not justify the extra cost of a moderate just because they are "prettier". How much time will I spend at the resort, anyway? Probably not much, and I could always drop by a different resort for lunch and a stroll if I need to experience something new...

All Stars Music not too bad, is it??

It really depends on how much you intend to use the facilities of your resort. If you plan on being at the parks the whole time then the added recreational activities of the mods are of little value. If you plan on spending a good deal of time just enjoying the resort then the more elaborate pools and recreational ammenities are worth it. I enjoy spending a day at the pool with the kids and walking the grounds at night and the water toys that are avail at some of the mods, I do not think however that the room by itself is worth the extra $,
