For the past week or so, I just can't get enough chocolate.

No, I am NOT pregnant, and I am NOT PMSing. Yes, I am sure. :snooty: ;)

This week, I ate a WHOLE bag of Bliss chocolates over the course of 1.5 days.

The other day, I had to go to Target (the closest store) and buy a Pepperidge Farm chocolate cake, because the craving was THAT bad.

Yesterday, I was 100% full after having just ate a really sensible dinner (spinach salad and chicken salad on crackers) but I couldn't resist a KING-sized chocolate candy bar from a vending machine.

I just NOW asked my DH to pick up chocolate on his way back (he is headed to the store for something unrelated).

WHAT could be making me crave chocolate so intensley?

I have been the exact same way this week!! I'm interested to see the responses you get!!

If it were snowing and cold, I could blame it on that (comfort food), but the sun is shining, the windows are opened, and it's warm and SPRING-like! I should be craving fruit or something healthy, LOL!

Did you give up another food item for lint?(is that spelled right, I'm not catholic)
I have a close friend who gave up her nightly glass of wine and has been eating chocolate like crazy.

Hmm. I DID actually give up Coke (my usual "desert" of choice)... and I DID think to myself yesterday how much I wanted a Coke.

Interesting!

oh, for funny. I was just talking about this at coffee with a few of my friends yesterday. One of them is a nurse- she didn't think she knew if this was correct or not- but SHE HAD HEARD this...

When you get hungry for something your body is telling you that you 'need' something in which that food provides (whether it's a 'comforting feeling with less stress' type of need OR an actual 'food/nutrient' need).

Then, if your 'what your body needs' contains addictive ingred. (coffee, pop, alcohol or cigs {which one never NEEDS but can crave if you've allowed yourself to have a taste}, chocolate, or candy)...you can become addicted to it because of the large amount of that addictive ingred. in your system...chocolate contains alkaloids, which certain people can form addictions to quite easily. alkaloids are also found in alcohol (which some people can't go one day with out having...there is a reason for that)...

Not sure if all that is true, or a bunch of B.S. but, thought I'd put it out there.

I wish more people were addicted just to chocolate instead of smoking, drinking, drugs...haven't heard of a CAA meeting yet (chocolate-aholics-ann.). The world may be a bit more 'overweight' but at least it would only effect the person with the craving- not everyone around them as well.

Hopefully it 'calms down' for you soon! Enjoy all in moderation, that's my motto!

I'm a Choco-holic so I see nothing wrong with you. :)

I have more chocolate and candy in my house than Willy Wonka has in his factory.. seriously.

Well you could be needing a little extra zink or just need some extra lovin'

Interesting.

I am Megs, a Chocoholic. Or at least I feel like one today. I am sitting here wondering (worrying) if my husband knew I was serious about bringing back chocolate! :rotfl:

I don't know if all of my above mentioned chocolate is "in moderation" or not! :scared1:

Maybe all of us chocolate cravers should go 'cold turkey' and see if it's an addiction:lmao: Kidding...I think if I were addicted to anything, it would be best if it were chocolate or pop:thumbsup2

They sell this great bag of assorted chocolate little squares at Costco, Kirkland brand. At least you'll save money! :rotfl2:

I'm not the best person to ask, as I'm sitting here munching on Thin Mints! I ALWAYS have chocolate, everyday. But like you, I can hardly help it. Its pretty much now an addiction.

Dessert is never complete without chocolate!

ETA: And look at my tag! :p

I had a craving for chocolate chip cookie dough today. So I bought a mix package and just took some out, added some butter and ate it. I can't be pregnant or PMSing either. I just wanted it.

When you have an addiction like ours, it's best to save money... so you can buy more chocolate! :goodvibes

When I first gave up Coke, I gained weight because I had major sweet cravings. Chocolate, candy anything sweet - I was eating like crazy. It eventually subsided- but I had always thought most people lost weight when they gave up sodas. Once again I do the opposite of what I would have expected.
