Chocolate Wave

I could be mistaken, but I believe the alcohol was in the brandied cherries and they got rid of those and made it chocolate and raspberries now. Still tasty, but I don't think it was as good as the cherries... and you could never taste the alcohol, as far as I could tell.

I didn't taste alcohol...didn't even know it had some in it lol.

Oh my! I never realized the Chocolate Wave had undergone so many changes over the years... I last had it back in September 2006 and it didn't have any fruit at all. It had white chocolate shavings on top and white chocolate ice cream. I think at the time the alcohol was in the filling inside the cake but even back then I don't remember it tasting at all like alcohol.

My boyfriend and I ate there in May. The filling is white chocolate ganache and gran marnier (orange liqueur), so there is still alcohol in the cake. He didn't eat enough of the filling to tell me if he could taste the alcohol, though, but the cake itself is good.

That's so weird because I was there in May and the inside was chocolate...

Those cherries were very strong! But the cake is heavenly. :cloud9: I've had it many times and the filling has always been chocolate. It is very, very good. :lovestruc I've never been able to taste any alcohol in the cake. I didn't even realize it was in anything but the cherries.

Thanks everyone. I remembered reading somewhere about their being liquor in the filling. I'm guessing then that even if it's there that you can't taste it any longer.
