Help!!

We have decided on the chocolate for our intimate wedding cake but can't decide on which filling to have. We have finally narrowed it down to either the raspberry or chocolate mouse. Has anyone had either of these fillings and if so do you think the raspberry mouse would work with the chocolate cake or are we better off having the chocolate mouse. Any help would be great as we just don't seem to be able to make a decision on this.

Hi! We went with the raspberry mousse with our marble cake and we LOVED it! All of our guests really liked that cake and are still talking about it. I'm sure the chocolate mousse is really good too, but I can highly recommend the raspberry mousse.

For me, personally, the chocolate mousse and the chocolate cake would be too much chocolate. Chocolate and raspberry is one of my favorite combinations but if you love chocolate go with that.

Best Wishes :goodvibes

we had chocolate cake & chocolate mousse for our bottom layer & it was very good!

I'm not hugely fond of choc and rasp, but if the raspberry mousse is anything like our passionfruit mousse (and if it doesn't have seeds) then I would say do the choc and raspberry, b/c the slight tartness would really complement the chocolate! yum...

...now where can I find some cake...?? :confused3 :rotfl:

We decided on the chocolate cake with the chocolate mousse for our wedding. Personally I have always found that a fruit filling makes the cake soggy, whether it was done by a professional or not, so we went with the mousse.

Hey all, since I seem to be the only one with the raspberry mousse ;) no, there are no seeds (I actually cannot eat seeds so that was a requirement for me) and it is not a fruit filling, it's a mousse so it's light and fluffy and I thought it was actually lighter in texture than the typical chocolate mousse. But I love Disney's chocolate mousse too. The "moose" dessert at LeCellier is a definite favorite - yummy!

If they can do some of each that would be cool.

Whatever cake you choose you will not be disappointed - they did an amazing job and it was some of the best cake we've ever had!

Raspberry Mousse MMMMMMMMMMM! We had that with our cake last July and it was delicious! I seriously cannot wait until our first anniversary to have it again. DH and I actually froze most of our cake so we have more than just the cake top left and I had some not that long ago and it was seriously just as good as it was on our wedding day.

Thank you all so much for your help although I still can't decide, the raspberry mouse does sound very nice but then so does the chocolate. Maybe I will email my EM and ask if we can have two different types for our intimate wedding cake. As there will be only six guests attending I didn't really want to pay out extra for a custom wedding cake but maybe they would allow this for the intimate cake. I am very hungry now with all this talk of cake!!!
