Chocolate Fried Chicken.......?

How are You? I think I saved the chocolate gravy recipe.

I love chocolate gravy on hot homemade biscuits! My granny made the best but mine is pretty decent.

Here is Trisha Yearwood's version. Only thing is I don't use self-rising flour or whole milk. I also use less sugar and more cocoa powder but this is a good version.

1 cup sugar
3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 tablespoon butter
Hot buttered biscuits or ice cream, for serving

Directions

Mix the sugar, cocoa powder and flour together until there are no lumps. Add the milk and stir to combine. Melt the butter in large saute pan. Add the flour mixture and cook on medium heat, stirring continually until it thickens. Serve over hot buttered biscuits or even ice cream.

Thank You! I am going to try this the next time I make biscuits..:thumbsup2

No problem but this gravy is something you can make thicker or runnier like other gravy. If you cook it too long and it gets really thick it reminds me of pudding. I like mine really runny and the skim milk helps with that or adding extra whole milk.

I like it runny also, I use 2%. I try to cut as much calorie out as I can, if that is possible...:lmao:

That sounds totally heavenly!! :cloud9:

A 5* chef near us has a lobster in chocolate sauce. I thought it would be disgusting, but I had to order it one time.

It was the most heavenly dish I have ever had.

So, I might be game to try it someday.

What is the name of the restaurant?

This could either be delicious or gross. I like Cincinnati Chili and Mexican mole dishes, both of which have cocoa in them.

I forget whether it was Restaurant impossible or kitchen nightmares. I think it was chicken but it might have been some other meat. But the chef insisted his chocolate sauce on it was totally awesome. Meanwhile, the guests were all, Blech!!!! and the host of the show was like OMFG this is horrid after one bite. :rotfl2:

I remember that! I think it was Kitchen Nightmares because I LOVE Gordon Ramsey! Some cook had a chocolate sauce for shrimp that just LOOKED awful! Blech!
