Anything and everything!

We are having a dessert party (as part of my son's Bar Mizvah weekend) in March and I had asked for chocolate covered strawberries. The chefs at Epcot suggested fondue, instead. Note that the chocolate must be dairy and nut free...perhaps this was why they suggested fondue.

I guess my main concerns are...was it messy or difficult to use...we have 32 guests ranging in age from 6-88 years old.

Any other info would be appreciated!

Thansk,

It wasn't really that messy, but can see possibilities. We has around 30 people including 5 kids. Nobody got any on them. They put the chocolate in those warming things (sorry the exact word is escaping me at the moment). The stuff they use to put food out on a buffet. Anyways, they had dark and white chocolate for dipping. They had all the dipping stuff (fruits, marshmallows, pretzels, etc.) next to it. They had wooden skewers you could use to dip the items. It was pretty easy except for all the people around it trying to get some. For your non dairy/nut stuff, Disney will easily work with you on it. I really enjoyed the station and would highly recommend it.

Thanks...nice to hear a positive opinion. We are lucky and thankful Disney is so accomodating to our allergy needs!

Has anyone done this or have this planned for their party?

There were three kinds of chocolate fondues at my Welcome Party: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate. I'll post a few photos below of the setup that was used at the Grand Floridian:

Some of the fondue dipping items included pound cake, angel food cake, pineapple slices, melon slices, strawberries, and raspberries. (Probably other items, too, but my mind is drawing a blank.)

I hope this helped.

Thanks Janet...it looks yummy! I think we are going to go ahead and include it at the DP!
