Safeway Stores recently began making caramel and chocolate caramel apples, they taste just as good as that to which one may purchase at Marcelines Confectionery Shop in DTD in Anaheim, Ca. Difference being however the price, a big difference at that too. These are 7 ounce apples, that are plain or decorated that sell for only $3.99 each one. Sometimes they are sold at a promo price of only$2.99 each. These are super delicious and at that price you may buy two or more for the same price at DTD at Marcelines for one, which last year was $9.99.
You may also order the caramel and chocolate caramel apples at no additional cost at Safeway, and may have them decorated however you may like for as long as the decorators of course will be able to accommodate one's request. The decorators are skilled and have flair, so they can make just about anyone's wish come true. I don't know if their sister store Von's sells them, but they might.
Let me tell ya' when I was at Safeway not that long ago, I thought I spied a chocolate caramel apple, not wanting to be fooled, I asked the Bakery pro about it, and sure enough she confirmed that it was indeed just that, to which I replied, I thought I would have to wait for my next Disney trip in order to buy this, but now NO! Thank goodness, because their price went up to almost 10 dollars, and no longer were making the chocolate covered apples, only white chocolate with milk. I do not like white chocolate, I find it too rich believe it or not for my taste buds. Anyway, as one can probably tell I am a very happy camper with my local Safeway and their bakery department.
