*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

I'm considering switching our one night room only ressie from the CR to the GF. Not sure if I should do this. I liked the GF, but not sure if it'll be too stuffy and not kid friendly enough. We want to be close to the Poly since we're switching resorts the next day. Any thoughts on the WL? I haven't considered that one and not sure if I should.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

I agree with the rest of the troops, I love love love the WL but it you have a MKV at CR booked that sounds blissfull:cloud9:

:rotfl2:

I am sure there are wigs of mullets! :scared1:

Stay with the Contemporary -- I think you will really like your one-night stay there! We stayed there in '87 (21 years ago! :scared1: ), and I loved it! Then, you can check CR off your list -- besides the theme park views are out of this world!

I think I'm going to get a mullet wig for next Halloween. Just not sure what the rest of the costume will look like yet.

I'm thinking I should keep my original plans now.

That's why you should plan a whole day in DTD for shopping like I do...I go into every store. Send the DH and kids to a water park or DisneyQuest so you can shop in peace!

I'm guessing that you haven't seen the prices of those Lapu Lapu drinks yet...at least $8 a pop for one.

Our jr league hockey team has a mullet event every year where they give out mullet wigs

I think you should either stay at the CR or pick whatever resort you don't think you will want to return to so you can cross it off your list.

I think we may do DTD on our arrival day. Not sure yet.

I want to see these mullet wigs.

Looks like CR is staying :confused3

We're THERE!!!!
:cheer2:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Lapu '08! I think that should be part of the Olympic Games.

sounds good to me, how do I do it?????

stay where u are.

I think you should get a website developer to create one for you and TourGuideJordan. You'll be the east coast rep and he'll be the west coast rep.

I think CR is going to stay.

I vote you stay at CR. I would love to stay there sometime.

I vote with Scott..Stay where you are..its only one nite..and you booked a theme park view!!

CR :thumbsup2

Do you watch Rock of Love Carrieannie?

I agree with the rest of the troops, I love love love the WL but it you have a MKV at CR booked that sounds blissfull:cloud9:

I think I may try WL for another trip.

TGJ says stick with CR.

Thanks TGJ :thumbsup2

I'm with the rest... stick with CR :) then u can say you've stayed there too :)

Thanks Tanya :goodvibes Now I need you to help me with my binder :lmao:

Cheers to the Mullet! This is the hockey team thing

In recognition of the history of the mullet through the years, the Monarchs are honoring the Redneck next month for keeping hockey hair alive for all these years. It’s the Redneck that saved the mullet from impending doom, single-handedly kept their long locks from being wiped off the face of the Earth forever.

“Whether they’re hunting, fishing, watching wrestling or heading off to the rodeo, the Redneck has long been identified by their ’10-90’ hairdo,” said Monarchs President Jeff Eisenberg. “It is the Redneck that has kept the love affair with the mullet alive and it is to these people that we pay tribute to on March 7.”

“Mullet Night: Redneck Edition” will be filled with Redneck activities, music, on-ice entertainment as well as the distribution of 3,500 mullet trucker hats with hair flowing freely like no one has ever seen before in the arena, courtesy of Sanel Auto Parts. Not only that, fans can leave their dentures at home as the Monarchs are also giving away 3,500 sets of Redneck teeth! So dust off your old mullet wigs, throw on your best hunting gear and join the Monarchs for another unforgettable Mullet Night.

Gotta love the mullet!!

Thanks for your suggestions everyone!!! It looks like we're going to stick with the CR. Next summer, when we return for my nephew's first birthday I'm going to look at resorts other than the CR and Poly. I'll consider the GF, WL, AKL, BWI, and BC, & BCV.

As of right now, for a possible October trip, the Dolphin, POR, & POFQ are on my lists. While I love the deluxe resorts, I cannot justify spending more money just for a quick weekend trip.

We have AAA and I have never booked a package through them. Does anyone know a good AAA agent? The one I met in NYC was HORRIBLE, so I decided to go directly to Disney.

I can always go get a Lapu Lapu and bring it back on the monorail.

:rotfl2: I can just see you sitting there on the monorail with your pineapple sitting in your lap! :rotfl:

POFQ is my favorite moderate! :lovestruc

I have never done anything with AAA. :(

My AAA agent is not the best in the world either :confused3 She basically booked my package and that was it last year. A guy I work with, his wife is big in the travel industry, and she said that AAA ususally always has the best discounts for Disney, that is why I booked with them. Sure enough they did get the best discount out there, I got about 5 different quotes when I looked for my first trip. I am really tight with my money and will not spend more than I have to. I have heard people talk about how their agent booked the ADRs and stuff like that. Maybe it is AAA in general, they only book the package for you. That or we both have bad AAA agents.

When free dining came out last year, she didn't know anything about it. I had to tell her, but when you do the free dining, AAA no longer can give you the AAA discount, so its just as cheap to do it with Disney directly.

However; I may be getting an annual pass this year, so I will just start doing it all myself. Perhaps you can do the same. Just use them to get the discount and do the stuff yourself.

Oh and about other resorts, I love the look and feel of the WL. Even tough I have only stayed at the values, I am way to cheap all of my friends say. I'm trying to break the idea of DVC to WL to my partner :rotfl2: Or maybe the Kingdom Tower when it goes on sale. LOL. I'm sure he will say no to both

:yay: for staying with Contemporary.
:woohoo: go for POR. I loved it.
:sad2: 63rd st. AAA is not very knowledgable of Disney that is why I did it myself.

For your October trip, I vote for the Dolphin with the educator's discount! LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
And the beds truly are "heavenly"....:cloud9:

I'm going to respond to everyone a little bit later. There's loud drumming in the hall and I'm going for a latte. I feel like there's banging in my head!!!
