*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

I didn't know Jiko takes two hours. I guess I'll have to build that into our time budget. We have ADRs there.

Well, that's what I read -- it might be a little faster, but I do know it is supposed to be more leisurely since it's a signature.

Restaurant Suggestions:

I've been looking over my ADRs again and again. While I like my choices, I'm wondering if there are restaurants in WDW that are great and I'm missing them. So a couple of questions for you!

What are your favorite Disney restaurants? What did you like about them?
Keep the ADRs as they are...and now you have a good excuse for another trip! :thumbsup2

I hear the music now!

AKL is beautiful! I can't wait to be back there for dinner at Boma!

That's what Charles and I are thinking since dinner takes about two hours with all the courses -- I don't see my two sitting still for that long -- they are well-mannered, but I think that would stretch their limits!

What's the food like at Boma?

Two hours is too long for a meal for any small child. My nephew would not be happy.

Whooo hooo can't wait!

Coral Reef- fun atmosphere, good food.

Tusker House- yummy breakfast buffet, good character interaction.

I'm excited about Tusker House. And from your pics, Coral Reef looks so pretty!

Hurray for Tusker House! We have ressies there in June -- I can't wait to try it!!! :lovestruc

I can't wait for your review :thumbsup2

My FAVORITE restaurant in all of Epcot is Chefs de France.:cool1: A seat by the window makes it fun to "people watch", too. I just LOVE it and it is on the list everytime we go. DD loves Rose & Crown (I'm not fond of it, but that's HER top choice) and DH goes anywhere and eats anything. He's such a gem. :lovestruc

Have you tried 50's PT Cafe? I'll bet "T" would get the giggles in there! :goodvibes (and the food was pretty good. lol I just expected "atmosphere", so I was pleasantly surprised!)

We love 50s Prime Time and T had a great time there last summer. We're going again :goodvibes

I want to try one of the French restaurants, but maybe I'll make a trip with my grandma only and do it. My nephew is a bit too young this trip.

Your DH is just like my dad. He just want to know where to show up and he'll eat :lmao:

Keep us posted. We are all rooting for you to get up to 50 push ups!!

I didn't know Jiko takes two hours. I guess I'll have to build that into our time budget. We have ADRs there.

The 50 push ups shouldn't be that hard to get to. It's the rest of the circuit. I think he thinks I'm going to be the next Layla Ali :confused3

Well, that's what I read -- it might be a little faster, but I do know it is supposed to be more leisurely since it's a signature.

From what I read, the signature restaurants do take a bit more time.

Keep the ADRs as they are...and now you have a good excuse for another trip! :thumbsup2

My thoughts exactly :thumbsup2

Kona is my favorite. the food and drinks were out of this world.

Donalds breakfast was also a favorite, the juice is fantastic, the food was really good and the atmosphere made it worth while.

Boatwrights - alot of people don't like it but I think ti is good. not great but good.

Chef Mickey - I think it went downhill last time I was there. i was not impressed.

Crystal Palace - only been for breakfast and still a favorite of mine.

Rose & Crown was also good.

Next trip will be trying Boma and I cannot wait. :woohoo:

50's PTC was a great experience. the pot roast was really good.

Sci-fi was a disappointment.

Tutto Italia the lasagna was delicious.

Spoodles last trip was really good. I was surprised.

hope some of these helped.

The Bistro upstairs is definitely "adults only", but I prefer the menu downstairs at Chef de France, and I'll bet your nephew would be just fine. The waiters were very nice - made a big fuss over DD each time we've been there.

We are going to Kona's this June due to Scott's recommendation! (and I think the Lapu Lapu is calling me......)

That looks soooo good! I want one NOW!

Oh no! Where is Jen? I feel another cocktail party coming on tonight...

Here I am :wave2:

Had a salon appointment after work. Now I'm ready for a cocktail party!!!

It's African-inspired (whatever that means exactly). It's hard to explain but delicious! Allearsnet has a good example of the menu.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Once again, I want to change my Le Cellier over to Kona so I can order one of these!!!

Going to check this menu too :thumbsup2

I really think we just had horrible service at Ohana for dinner.

We're doing Liberty Tree Tavern for the first time for the character dinner. The menu looks good and safe. I'm all about comfort foods :thumbsup2

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I will toast to you, Scott, when I have it! (like I did with my mai tais in Ft Lauderdale! :goodvibes _

Our friends swear by Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner as a "tradition" ... so we are trying it for the first time in June.

Safe is good. lol

Let me know what you think of the menu at Chefs de France. We had wonderful service... Our server, Basil, really was funny with DD... kept teasing her and joking with us. He was such a sweetheart!

Can't wait....;)

I'll call you TourGuideJordan :)

I have a question for you Jordan. From your tr, I know your single. Is dating in Southern California as horrible as dating in NYC?

The stuff I encounter, I could write a book :lmao:
