*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

Can't wait to hear more about the trip. Sounds like the train was an adventure.

And, just to join all the cool kids and chime in...

in 1980...

I was 1. :lmao:

The train was interesting. First time I spent that much time on one train.

Oh my! That is an EARLY train!

I am no good at getting up that early, even if it is for a fun trip.

(I was also 1 year old in 1980.)

I don't know how I was awake and pleasant.

I can't believe you were up and going that early in the morning!!! :scared1:

Out of curiosity, how many students are in your school?

I shocked myself :lmao:

We have under 350 students K-6.

We have under 350 students K-6.

I love the idea of a small school! You really must get to know all the students very well!

To put it all in perspective: DS and DD's school has close to 900 students K-5. :scared1:

My school (right across the street) has 900 students 6-8. :scared1:

I am lucky because I teach the gifted kids for all three years -- so my 8th graders have had me for all three years. Let's just say there are lots of pluses and some negatives to that. There is one student who drives me so batty that I have been counting down how many days I have left to teach him since he was in the sixth grade!

Before my current school, I taught at a large school. It was a nightmare. I love a small school too.

Your DS and DD's school is HUGE! And so is your school.

Teaching the gifted is a unique experience. I love it.

:lmao: That student will be out of your hair soon.

I love teaching the gifted students also -- they "usually" embrace whatever we are doing.

Yes, 20 more days and then the high school can have him -- just this year he managed to get kicked off the cross-country team for mooning other runners and during the CRCT looked ahead to the math section. That tells you something about him right there.

hehe... siggies are just for fun...

You can start a professional siggie design website.

Woo Hoo 20 more days for you

I have 8 more weeks :scared1:

Yes, 20 more and if you figure that we are touring the high school on Tuesday, I will be gone on Friday, I have a meeting on the following Friday, and the last day of school I don't have classes, I am really down to 16 days! I can't remember if he is going on the three chorus field trips, but if he is then that knocks it down to 13.

With most of the 8th graders, I will cry on the last day -- they were the first group I have taught for the full three years.

You are so lucky! Our last day is June 20th.
And I'll be like the energizer bunny the next few weeks. Our play is May 13th and it'll be crazy until that's over.

Awwww graduation is so bittersweet.

   105 days until Disney

We are almost at the 100th day mark! And we'll be in double digits by the end of next week!!!!

Okay, I have to ask what the play is since it involves the river Nile!

Woo! Woo! Woo!

I think we need to celebrate with cocktails :rotfl2:

I think that is an excellent plan!

If you've been reading my pre-trip, you know at this point, I need one! :lmao:

Yes, you do!
