Chit Chat Thread - November ADRs...

Thank you! It is a morning with EMH so park opens at 8am. I originally booked an 8:20 reservation for Be Our Guest but now managed to get 9:30am also. I thought to maybe not waste the EMH by eating and take advantage of that. So now I'm deciding which would be better 8:20 or 9:30. Which would you recommend? This is our first visit.

My two-cents would be to do the 9:30. But...to throw in some unsolicited advice, I wouldn't use FPs that early. I'd get there at rope drop and hit a couple of the popular rides but not headliners. The lines shouldn't be too bad since most people at rope drop are heading to the uber-popular rides before the crowds. Then stop to do a nice sit down breakfast, come out and maybe hit another ride or two and then start FPs for the main attractions with the longer waits (7DMT, Peter Pan, Space Mtn) when crowds are getting heavier. It may be too late to change your FPs so if you're set then don't worry too much about that but I think if you can get there at 8:00 then get in and ride a few rides from 8:00 - 9:10, head to PP at 9:10 and use your FP, and then go to breakfast and still be in good shape for the rest of the day!

Thank you. I did try to change Peter Pan but nothing available except within the hour of wishes and my CRT reservation that is right after wishes. I will keep looking for other things to open up. Just one more thing to add to my stressful search lol

I don't think it's horrible to have the early FP so don't stress too much LOL! Of course that's coming from the person stressing about finding the perfect BOG ADR after changing plans 2 weeks before her trip haha!!

That sounds like me! I am 2 and a half weeks away and I had everything planned until Disney released CRT reservations when they extended hours so I swapped days so I could now do CRT with our entire party now I'm back to searching obsessively and am now changing other things. I keep saying I'm going to stop and I don't.

It's so addicting to plan isn't it...to just get that perfect ADR!

need some advice... Last day at MK would you do CP at 8:25am or O'hana at 9am? I just passed in the elusive O'hana because I was worried we'd get to MK too late, but I really want an O'hana breakfast!!!! Now I'm wondering if I made the right choice. (Not that it matters because it was snatched up quickly!)

By 'last day at MK' do you mean you've spent other days at MK? If so, I would think you'd have time to add a breakfast at 'Ohana. If it's your first and only day at Mk, I'd do CP.

We will be at MK 2 days and 1 evening during our trip, so this is our last park day at MK.

I've never been to CP or O'hana for breakfast, but my DD9 would love to see Stitch!

I think with 2.5 days at MK you could sacrifice some morning time on the last day for breakfast. Then you still have your 3 FPs that last day to hit the rides you want to do before you leave that have the longer lines and still enjoy the rides without FP that go quick.

So...I'd vote for 'Ohana breakfast!

I will say I do like CP for breakfast as well though. It's typical buffet breakfast food but the atmosphere is pretty and when I was there, the Winnie the Pooh characters were really interactive.

I've never eaten 'Ohana breakfast so my opinion is really based on whether I think you have time, and I do. And if your son loves Stitch it sounds fun!

I'm not sure what the 2 folks did when I was cancelling, but we agreed on a time for them to PM me to let me know they were logged into the system. Once they PM'd me that they were on, I PM'd them back to let them know I saw their message and was logging on and cancelling right then. Then I'd send another PM letting them know I cancelled. And both times they said they didn't get the ADR.

When I tried to pick one up I was logged on and on the BOG page. I did the same thing as you and had the closest time to the reservation and just kept hitting "find a table" and it never showed up. In that case the person told me the exact time they were cancelling and I started hitting "find a table" about 3 minutes before that time and then for another 45 minutes.

I feel like people think I'm lying to them that I'm cancelling a reservation LOL!!! But I really am!

Mine are always for parties of 2...maybe they hold off on releasing smaller tables for more cancellations so they can then release more party of 4+'s?? Of course it's all guessing!

It's been really tough this year. Last year when you started to book a reservation, it held it until you were finished.

That seems to be gone. Whomever finishes submitting their full reservation first, wins. There's no rhyme or reason other than internet speed and you're competing with TAs, Concierges, and all us regular old people now maniacally checking without a search site (TAs and Concierges have access to private search sites, just not us. That's all Disney did by going after the notification sites, they only made it hard for people without assistance to help themselves. >_<).

Last year I helped someone grab one a few days before but they tend to not budge much from 180+ days.
Yeah I am starting to see that. I have had my ADR since 180+10 and haven't changed it but I was now trying to move things araound because 2 friends want to meet us for dinner on my Cali Grill night but we will see if they can just add 2 to our table of 5. If memory serves me right the 6 tops are all booths so we should be ok.....this happened once before and it wasn't an issue

We weren't planning on going this year until my husband talked me into a last minute trip after Thanksgiving. It turned out to be a good move because he loves Christmas and Christmas light displays and a week after we booked they announced this would be the last year for the Osborne Family Lights (which was on our Disney bucket list!). Even though we booked well after the 180 day opening of ADRs we managed to get everything we wanted but Ohana (which is a trip tradition for us!) The day that would be idea to go we have not booked another ADR right now. We were thinking maybe we would go right at 4:30 and try to get a table stand by. Anyone have experience doing this? What are the chances we would be able to get a table?
If it doesn't look good, we figured we'll go to the sushi bar by Kona and then check out Trader Sam's! Does anyone know if there are still huge waits to get in there still as well?

but yet you can "coordinate" and basically do the same thing

I think the concern with trading is that people would just start picking up and hoarding ADR's looking for trades, instead of picking up the ones they truly want.
