Chit Chat Thread - November ADRs...

What are my odds of picking up an Ohana for breakfast?

I found an Ohana breakfast after my 180 (probably at around 130 days out). So keep checking. I also have a CP that I'm debating keeping. I thought it was a pre-opening since it's at 8:40am, but it's on an early open day. If I can find a time I like better, I may swap it. If I can get a BoG I'll drop it for BoG breakfast.

I can't believe someone had 21 BoG ressies! That's just crazy. I could understand having some on different days, but 21--sheesh. Good news is that there will be openings popping up--we just have to keep looking to find them. I'm guessing that when the 45 day mark hits (payment due date) for FD that we will see things open up since I bet there are people who have booked trips thinking that they wanted FD but really might not be able to go (work, etc).

Hoarders are definitely frustrating! But I do find it hard to fully plan at 180 days. I do have one night where I have a Coral Reef and Crystal Palace ADR in the same night. I'm still trying to decide if we're doing the christmas party or not (leaning towards not). Also, I've been trying to get a CP ADR at another time which would help me make the decision. Anyway, just saying I can understand holding on to a few extras. But 21 extras for 1 restaurant?? That's nuts.

That is the way I feel however we are constantly cancelling as well as picking them up. Since one of my daughters is doing her CP our family has a total of 4 trips coming up. I think out of the 4 trips we have 5 BOG ADRs one of which I am going to post to cancel.

November special offers have been released - although from what I can tell the discounts are less and the month of November is pretty hit or miss!

So I just learned something from another thread. I'm new to MDE and since my first trip using it isn't until the end of October, I've mostly been using the computer version. For others that don't know, you can go on the phone app and search for all available reservations for a specific date. (Maybe you can do this on computers too, but I'm still a newbie and don't see how to do this on the computer version).

Anyways...I went on the app and searched for available ressies for the next few days in July and they are showing some times for busy restaurants like BoG! So this looks like a good way to find reservations closer to your trip dates! Hopefully we will be able to find those last few ADR's as we get closer!

So, I will never second guess myself if FD is a good discount again! I just priced out a trip at POFQ with the fall discount with everything basically the same as my trip. The total was $2168 without a dining plan. My FD trip was $2223 before we upgraded to the deluxe plan. I'm pretty sure no one can convince me that my husband, 1 year old, and I can eat for 7 days on $55.

If I wasn't locked into my dates (other family going, timing it during my husband's super busy time at work), I might be looking at different dates - hope the crowds aren't too bad! I guess touring plans will be even that more important :)

I also priced out my vacation with the new fall discounts and it is definitely more expensive than my (not even that great) return to the magic offer!

It sounds like for you all it's definitely the way to go!! I think it really depends on family size and which resort you're staying at, and eating style. We've always benefited from FD in the past, but this trip RO would have been the better deal, if it would have been applicable to our room category!

Although, even if I change my room and get the RO discount it's still a better deal I think. I wish I had added the FD just to have it and then be able to do the math with what was released today. But I was pretty sure a RO would come out and save us more! Oh well...with the FD I would have booked a different room category anyway so I'd be in the same spot I guess.

I was contemplating switching based on the Fall discount offers, but I think I'll stick with my 40% off at AKL.

Agreed! It will be interesting to see if people start cancelling trips based on lack of discount availability! We'll see if the ADR cancellations start showing up!

I'm stalking that room discount thread and looks like one person already said they're canceling because of the lack of RO discount. So yes, people are canceling and I'm sure they're not all on disboards.

Oh, yes it definitely depends on the family and other variables. I was just happy because I've seen on different threads people saying it's not worth it for a couple (and maybe with a better RO discount it wouldn't be) so I was second guessing myself but now I see that we made the right choice for us to go with FD.

I know that this has been said before but if people wouldn't book expecting a discount then Disney would maybe give better discounts. We were going regardless of any discounts but when people are booking based on expecting a discount then Disney sees that X amount of rooms are booked so they don't feel as strong of a need to give a good discount. I do understand why people book with the expectation there will be a discount but I think in the long run it is hurting those people more than helping.

However, if I can get some ADRs booked out of this ;)

Can they apply to existing reservations? Not sure the discount will be better than FD but I know my resort and room category is totally booked.
