If I'd known my question, that had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with camping, would get moved to the "Camping at Disney World" forum, and if I'd known that an incredibly rude and bitter group of campers would attack me on that forum, because of some battle they are in to retain control of and somehow prevent too many people from using their campground, and continue to attack long after I settled my differences and left the thread, I would have never posted this question in the first place.

I have learned my lesson, and will never again, NEVER post anything that could somehow end up on the Camping at DW forum. People from my side of the DIS would be absolutely SHOCKED to learn there is a place so mean spirited as the Camping at DW forum. I have certainly learned my lesson.

yes you can - we went in May and at no time during our travels to and from the campfire or while at the campfire did anyone ask us where we were staying. Unfortunately for us a thunderstorm came through and cut our evening short, but we did get to roast marshmellows - yummy.

I believe if you check the camping thread you can find additional info on how to get there using disney transportation. We left from the MK by boat and returned to the MK by bus.

You can absolutely go! We have been dozens of times while staying at other resorts. It is very fun!

Found this

Chip & Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long is held nightly at the Meadow Trading Post and begins with a 7:30 fire lighting (weather permitting). It features a sing-along, Disney movies and cartoons. Marshmallows can be toasted over the campfires. You can bring your own or buy them there. The Chuckwagon is located there and sells pizza, hot dogs, popcorn, nachos, candy and beverages for those who want something a little more substantial.

That sounds like fun! Is it usually crowded? If it's something that is not very expensive, I would be afraid that it would be packed.

Wow, a chance to see and interact with some characters and not having to pay! Thats great, kinda suprised Disney dosen't try to nickel and dime people for this. We may have to check this out next month.

may seem like a silly question, but I have a smores loving kiddo ;)..... Do they provide marshmallow roasting sticks????

Thanks!
Val.

The character interaction is limited. Chip and Dale make their way through the crowd in record time. They come to you and it is quick. That being said DD enjoyed it and the sing a long before the movie.

They sell all Smore ingredients as well as sticks, but you can bring our own if you want, they don't come cheap!

We've never made it early enough to see Chip and Dale but we have watched a movie a few times. We like to eat at Trail's End and then head over to the campfire.

I've moved this thread to the Camping at Disney World board. It's the best place to discuss all of the offerings available at Fort Wilderness. :)

This entertainment is free to all Walt Disney World resort guests.

Well worth it and a bunch of fun. Chip and Dale are pretty fast through the crowds but everything else is quite nice. For sure bring your own sticks and Smores items. They are very proud of theirs!

You should be a WDW guest staying at a WDW resort to enjoy any of the campfires or outdoor movies.

Not to be disrespectful BUT,, the key words here are, "For Disney Resort Guests",,
If you are staying at a premium hotel/resort in Orlando that has some wonderful ammenities/entertainment for their guests and you obviously paid a premium price for the privilege of using these ammenities/entertainment,,how would you like it if people not staying there just came anytime and used them for free ?

Thats partly why Disney has resorts on their property.

I agree with Frank. Even though it would be nice for the campers to have sole use of the forts amenities since things get very crowded, I would be happy with disney resort guest only. The pool and the campfire get way to overcrowded these days from people who come in and are not paying at a disney resort. I have stated in other post that disney should require guest to use a pass card to get access at all disney pools. I would even be happy if they enforced the foolish "no pool hopping" policy between resorts. It just gets too crowded and when you throw the low life's that sneak into disney resorts it canget awful for us

Frank is Right

If you are staying off site. "Stay off site" Don't freeload the amenities We are paying for. How would you like it if 50 or 100 non-guests showed up at your resort and took over your pool, kids playground or spa.

Since the Halloween debacle The Fort and other Disney Resorts will be having random Resort ID checks. Disney security and Os/co sheriff's dept will also be doing golf cart driver age and DUI check points/stops and speed limit enforcement inside Fort Wilderness.

Does this mean no more red cup drinking? I thought I found a loophole in that by letting my 12 y/o drive the cart when I'm drinking lol. They find a way to spoil everything. Next thing you know they'll charge me to fish from the banks.
