I was considering this and was wondering what your opinion of Campfire sing a long with chip and dale is?

We went there after the Hoop Dee Doo Revue and had a blast! Chip 'n Dale arrive about an hour before the actual show. There's a Chuckwagon cart that sells snacks and drinks. But the best part is that they sell Smores Kits, roaasting sticks and even hot dogs for roasting. There are two campfires so plenty of room to enjoy. The sing along starts at sunset and is really cute. My kids got a kick out of singing the old western songs. Afterward the sing along they show an outdoor movie. I highly recommend it.

We are planning on doing this as well on our next WDW vacation in September. I've been wondering how crowded it typically gets though??

Outside of a bit of a trek to get there I think it's one of the best free things Disney offers. Granted, their list of free things is short but it's up near the top, if not on the top :)

We went in Sept and it wasn't crowded BUT it had been raining/storming for a bit the day we went and they started it all late. I'm sure that impacted how many people went over there for it. If we find ourselves with a free evening on a trip we'd do it again for sure.

You can buy fixings for S'mores there if you want, bring your own or skip them all together.

We went on a beautiful evening during spring break and there was plenty of seating available. :)

We did this years ago. I believe my kids were 7 and 5 at the time and they had a blast. We've never been back, but my SIL took her kids (3 and 2) to the campfire sing along last November and they loved it.

This is a great free event. Young kids (under 10) will have a blast. Sing along, characters, s'mores, movie -- it's all good. Toughest part is getting there depending on where you are staying.

We did this last May w/ out Grandkids (9 and 7 yo). We arrived early and had time to interact w/ Chip and Dale, we played a few games of BINGO with the cast members and the other family that had arrived early. We were asked to be the family that escorts Chip and Dale to the actual Sing Along. (This allowed for even more one on one time and photos w/ them.)

We are taking a large family trip in Sept and this is the one thing that the Grandkids asked to do again!! ::yes::

I had this penciled in as something to do with my kids age 1 and 6, but now I'm sold. Definitely doing it. Seems perfectly magical at this age!

We love it. We are locals so sometimes we just head over to the campfire on a whim for a fun evening activity. We bring our own smores supplies but use the sticks they sell because they are super long and sturdy. You'll sometime see people roasting hot dogs as well. If you search on the camping board here, there is usually a post that has the movie schedule.

Did you go to the 4:00 or 6:15 show to be able to go to the campfire movie... Info online says the campfire/smores gets started at 7:30, with the sing a long starting at 8pm... so chip n dale get there at 8pm or they are there when the campfire gets lit??? It's inconvenient to get to the campground area.. so it would be great to do both at the same time... How long is the hoop de doo? It's been years since we last went, I can't recall...

I did this, years ago, with youngest DS, when we camped at FW. :goodvibes

It was a lot of fun! :thumbsup2

We would love to do this with our DGS's when we go this summer, but I keep reading how hard it is to get there. Can we drive there?

You can park at the resort but need to get on the resort bus to actually get over to the campground area, I think. We went once, and we just got on the campground ferry next to MK, which the kids thought was fun too. The campground area is sort of isolated.

We went to the 4:00 show. I paid for level 2 but the 4:00 show rarely fills up so they put everyone on the floor (category 1) and we were right in front of the stage! The show ends at 6:00 and we walked over to see the Tri-Circle D Ranch. Some of the horses have a mickey head on their bums!
Then we hopped on the resort bus and asked to be dropped off for the chip and dale sing along. When we got there they were setting up the campfires and Chip and Dale were playing games with the kids and hamming it up for the camera. I think it depends on daylight savings as to when the sing along begins but we had time to buy play games and buy our smores kit ($9.99) and sticks and enjoy the campfires before the sing along.

As far as how we got to the resort, I drove our car from Pop Century to the Fort Wildreness. We parked in their front lot and then hopped on their bus and it was a quick ride to Hoop Dee Doo.

The problem is you can't drive to the Meadow where they hold the event. You have to get on an internal bus. You can also take the boat to FW but you'll still have to take a bus to the Meadow area. It's not hard just not convenient like driving right up to it.
