We are going to WDW in November and our DS who is 12, loves chinese food, and it is hard to find a nice chinese place with atmosphere.
Does anyone have any photos or can tell me if it is worthwhile?
I am figuring being disney it is probably wonderful, but I wanted to see what others thought.
Thanks!

If he likes chinese buffet style food he wont like this. This is the worst of epcot.
My opinion. :sad2:

I was just gonna ask the same question!!

I was thinking of swapping this for 50s PTC.... it would be much easier on my itinerary as well

Couldn't disagree more!

I stayed away from Nine Dragons for years due to poor reviews, but I can see that it's another one of those YMMV things. It is certainly not the "worst" of Epcot, IMHO... (We reserve that dubious honour for Akershus... but again, YMMV).

Frame of reference seems to be everything: DH and I eat at expensive Chinese restaurants quite often and usually stay away from the buffets. So there was no sticker shock to us, nor did anything seem really strange. Most of the food (especially the appetizers) was incredibly authentic and it was all very fresh and absolutely delicious! I have no hesitation in recommending Nine Dragons!! Have fun!! :)

I had heard that this was not like your neighborhood chinese rest, and that had me worried.
When I say he LOVES it, I mean the pU pU Platter, chicken fingers and general chow's chicken. He does not vary that much so if it is lots of veggies and different I doubt he would eat it.
We are on the dining plan, so I thought it would be nice to check it out, as we usually do not do the plan

I am eating there on thanksgiving and I have to say that any other day the menu just does not look that good. Even on thanksgiving they care not having mashed they are having "mashed rutaba" (or something) I guess it is a turnip and supposed to be their "signature dish". I have to say that the only thing I am looking forward to with that meal is seeing my DD with the princesses.

If you mean General Tso's chicken (sounds a bit like Chow, more like Tao) then that is on the menu. Their fried rice is also excellent. And I always compare the HOney Sesame Chicken to upscale McNuggets with honey!! :lmao: Granted, it's not the greatest comparison, but it is pretty close... and I loves me some McNuggets with honey!! ;)

Bottom line is that everyone should be able to find favourites and enjoy themselves.

We are a family of 4 with 2 girls. The 11 year old is a very picky eater and the 8 year old eats anything. I have to say we loved the Nine Dragons. I thought it was some of the best chinese we ever had. We avoide those buffet style chinese place at all cost. So maybe if thats what your comparing it to you won't like the Nine Dragons. Both of my girls found something on the menu to eat. Even my picky eater never has a problem with finding something to eat in WDW. We will do Chinese the next time we go in Janury. :thumbsup2
