I've seen a picture of Mickey and Minnie dressed in traditional Chinese outfits for the Chinese New Year (this year on 1/23) but I don't know where the picture was taken. Does anyone know if they dress up each year in DL?
thanx

It may of been a picture from Epcot at the Chin Pavillion.

Or it may of been from the Family Fun Weekends last Winter, and back in the Festival Arena behind Big Thunder Ranch in DCA.

From the Disney Blog regarding last years event at DL.
Lunar New Year Festival – Feb. 4-6 and Feb. 11-13: Two weekends will be devoted to Lunar New Year, when time-honored traditions and family celebrations are observed within the Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures as the sun and moon begin their journeys for another year.

oh ya, you're probably right. Based on the background (as well as I remember) it probably was at Epcot. And I probably saw the picture when they were advertising the family fun weekends last year. thanx

I remember those photos from last year also. They were definitely on the Disneyland section of this board and were taken at Disneyland. :)
If you do a google search, you will find some photos of those outfits. The photos mention that they were taken at the Family Fun weekend (at Disneyland) so that might be where the pics you saw came from. I don't know whether or not they had on the same outfits for the actual Chinese New Year there. :)

Last year they had Family Fun Weekend events in January and February. These were at the Big Thunder Ranch. One of these celebrated different New Years including the Chinese. :thumbsup2

They are not scheduled for 2012.

Mickey and Minnie were in their Chinese New Year outfits because it was the year of the mouse. And they were at Disneyland. It was in 2008 (I think). This coming year is the year of the dragon, so no Mickey and Minnie.

They did look really cute.

They had them this year (2011) at the Big Thunder Ranch area (near where they have the Round Up BBQ) in Disneyland. Chip & Dale were also dressed up and Mulan & Mushu were available for pictures. They also had performances on stage (Chinese acrobats/dancers, etc.)

I know it occurred this year because it's on my telephone, which I just got late last year (2010).

I believe the photo was taken in January/February, based upon the other pictures surrounding it.

Right....it was part of the Family Fun weekends this past January and February. Disneyland 1951 mentioned above that they will not be having them this year. :)
