We just realized something we purchased yesterday at the China Pavilion had a dye theft deterrent left on. I do not have a park day i can switch to go in person. Any thoughts on where to start to resolve it? Not sure if guest relations or the store itself?

I guess never mind. I only have a non itemized receipt from paying with the gift card and not the itemized one. DH watched a YouTube that showed how to remove it. Not worth the hassle during vacation. :)

You can always go to the resort's store to have it removed with the receipt.

I bought it in China which isn't Disney owned I believe. I know they have a different computer system.

Well, most anti-theft devices are pretty uniform and can be removed by the same type of device. So, if your resort (hotel) has a store, they can likely remove it...

Go to the front desk at hotel and ask what to do. Are you willing to risk ruining an item by trying to remove a tag?

I used to work loss prevention and know all of the tricks the thieves use.If it is a gator tag, long grey thing with a pin, wrap a shoelace around it and tighten. It should pop without issue.

Thanks all. We added an Epcot day for unrelated reasons and got it resolved. I did check with the resort store and they confirmed it wasn't one they use at Disney owned stores, but they said sometimes the magnet will work regardless to remove it.
