China being replaced at VWL

My thoughts also. Maybe what they mean is "Made in China" plates, bowls and mugs.

OKW has gone to all white as well. I miss the Fiesta Ware, but the generic stuff I'm sure is less expensive to replace. I really liked the Fiesta Ware bowls for cereal much better.

If so all the homogenizing is a bit ridiculous. They ought to just go for the white comforters everywhere and be done with it.

They're putting generic white in all DVC resorts because people were stealing the themed china for souvenirs. It was too much temptation. I can't tell you how many times I checked into a villa and found one mug missing, or one whole place setting.

The alternative to going generic is to charge guests for each missing item. That wouldn't go over well either.

It seems to be in phases at OKW. We were in Bldg 20 in May and had the white dinnerware. I think all the resorts and restaurants are going to this, we had dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe and wanted to take home some leftovers and they sent the sauces with us in the small white ceramic ramekins, saying everyone has the same dinnerware, restaurants and villas, so few pieces here and there wouldn't matter.

I love the Fiestaware too. The color-coordinated plates and cups were part of the resorts' themes and made the DVC resorts special.

So much for Disney's attention to detail that they used to be known for. I loved the Fiestaware and was heartbroken to see it being replaced with generic institutional dinnerware. At least they used to use colored mugs and such but now I guess everything will be boring white.

Actually I'd like them to replace the comforters.

If they feel they can removing some theming (dishes) then what's holding them back from the rest. That'll be cheaper too if that's the argument being used.

Hmmmm....the couch. Well, we fly so that could be a problem for a carry on. Take the 100 lb comforter that will stand on it's own? I guess I could turn it in to a horse blanket.

This does not surprise me but upsets me that everyone had to be punished for the crimes of a few.

I really wish they would just punish the guilty.

The Fiestaware just made it feel more like home, instead of some institution.
