Oh my gosh, I totally forgot about these things! Everyone seemed to get one for Xmas the year I turned 9, and I swear in every household they doubled as a place to hang clothes while doing laundry

Of course then, they were always the ones you tightened into the doorways (non-permanent) similar to a shower curtain rod, with the rubber stoppers on the end.
Yeah, though, word of warning on those kinds. Again I was 9, so had that not-understanding-engineering mentality. Our upstairs neighbor had one and I thought it would be fun to hang upside down on it. Aaaaand, yeah, it fell. I remember lying there gaping like a fish because I'd knocked all the air out of me (lucky I didn't land on my head!). My mom, downstairs, said the boom overhead rattled the dishes in the cabinets. For the record, my friend's mom was just 10 feet away in the living room, but you know how fast kids can get into trouble

So that being said, I'd be very specific in saying, "no hanging upside down!" LOL!
