The chimichangas are filled with beans and beef. Not huge chunks of shredded beef though. It's more mixed together. It's hard to explain. LOL

They are $5.

YES, they are good! Even my picky kids liked it.

The outside was crispy, but not overly hard. So it's easy to eat.

We bought ours from one of the stands in Frontierland. Not sure where else in the parks they are sold.

Try one!! You'll be glad you did. :)

Sounds yummy!!!! I am sure we will try them, although DS9 wont touch them because they have beans.

Thanks!!

Oh no, not another thread discussing the low points of being victimized while waiting in line.

They have them in the Main St hub, you know the "circle". Chimi's & Turkey legs at one cart, ice cream at the next, popcorn at the next, corn dogs a little further down....I wasn't expecting much, but it really was pretty good, crispy and moist, not too greasy, but I knew it wasn't a healthy meal.:upsidedow And like the corn dogs and turkey legs, they are pretty substantial in size.

I think I remember also seeing them at the carts by the Matterhorn, going towards It's a Small World.

Chimichangas are basically fried burritos - and can be really yummy.

The chimis are DBF's fave! He gets one almost every time we go to the park. Last week we got ones over by Matterhorn and took them to the TL Terrace to watch Stellar. They are yummy. $5.50 and well worth it.

OMG these are so good:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It is more than a meal so maybe you can share a bite or two, but no more than that because they are so yummy

I personally think its the best deal in the park... Lol I remember the first time I ever saw one, My wife and I were standing around and she asked me what this gentleman was eating, I had no idea and told her to ask him. She said there is now way she was going to approach a stranger and ask him what he was eating. So I walked over and asked he turned, and looked at me and said "Dide its a Chimichonga. I was sold and wondered the park for 45min to find them. I've only ever seen one vendor selling them, and its now a staple of our trips to seek and destroy the Chimmy :)

Winky

Guests can find Chimichangas from any of 5 (may vary depending on demand) carts throughout the DLR:

Disneyland Park
  • The Hub, Main Street USA
  • Mark Twain Dock, Frontierland
  • Small World Mall, Fantasyland

Disney's California Adventure Park
  • Schmoozies, Hollywood Pictures Backlot
  • Toy Story Midway Mania, Paradise Pier

I'm going off a list that seems to be a bit out of date (it doesn't have the TSMM location, for example), so your mileage might vary.

BTW - the DCA Chimichanga place by TSMM - they sell out and don't get them back in quickly, as they are made at Disneyland and brought over to DCA. We actually had to wait for another visit to try one, as we were hanging out in DCA that day and they were out.

That being said...... I think I may be the only one, but I really didn't like it. :scared: For years I heard they were so great and when we finally got our first one a couple visits ago (last month), all of us took a bite and didn't care for it. Maybe it's because we got one later in the day (about 4pm) and it wasn't as fresh as it could have been? Don't know. Not planning on trying it again.

I'm with you, I don't care for them either. I love mexican food, and since I live in So.Calif we have great mexican food available on every corner. In my opinion the DLR chimichungas were disgusting. However, to each his own. I didn't want to chime in because I don't want to dissuade someone from trying them. I tried them once, and won't ever make that mistake again. There are just too many other wonderful choices in the park. However, if you think you'll like them, give it a try. If I want mexican food while in the resort, I'll go to Rancho Zoccalo, or Tortilla Jo's or Tortilla Jo's fast food window.

I'm with Califgirl, these things are nasty. (I come from the 'home' of chimis)
Now if you want a REAL chimi,go to Michas on south 4th Ave.:thumbsup2
