Since my new BFF sahbushka posted the awesome airfare deal earlier, our entire game plan for our trip in November has just changed.

We were going to stay at the Residence Inn Maingate, because we were going to drive and bring our dog with us. RI is dog friendly. Now that we are flying, our poor dog has to stay home, so we have a bit more flexibility with regard to where we can stay.

We'd like a room with a kitchen, so that we can cook some of our meals at "home". We'd also like a pool. Other than that, we're not picky. So, what do you think? Any suggestions?

Also, I thought it might be fun to book our last night or two at the GCA. Are there any tricks to getting the best rate there?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I have stayed numerous times at RI Maingate and love it. It has very good breakfast and they will do your grocery shopping for free. I do not consider the walk to the parks long, others do. It is under 1/2 mile. If you can do without a kitchen, I would stay at the Grand. Rates are real good right now for the summer.

Just a thought,

Jack

i've been gone all day Jack, glad you're back.

The rates at the hotels are great right now. If GC is too pricey, try the DH. I'm going up Sunday and staying for $189.00 a night.

Jack -- I would love to be able to stay at the Grand the entire time, but we're looking at 9 nights so it's just not realistic for us. Also, we really got frustrated on our last trip with feeling like a resort hostage, and paying approximately $75 - $100 for every. single. meal. So, we will need the kitchen for most of it. As for the RI, I was hoping to find the same amenities for a bit less than the rate at the RI, which is $150 a night. We may just keep our reservation because it really does look like a great hotel, but of course, I'd love to pay less. ;)

Thanks Nana50...is that just through the Disney web site or is there another trick? We are going in November...I wonder if that rate is even available to us.

I'm staying at Homewood Suites in July for 9 nights. They serve full cooked breakfast and evening light meal Mon-Thurs. (Beer and wine as well!) They also have full kitchens and will shop for your groceries . We'll be lunching in the parks and doing dinners back at the hotel. My AAA rate for July was 107/night. (Reserved in Jan). They have their own shuttle for a fee to the Parks but Art stops at the hotel next door if you prefer.

I will check that out...thanks!

Wow...I just checked online for the GCH and it's $500 a night. That's a bummer. :scared1:

November, you never know what the rates will be. For July it was $264 or there abouts for a standard. Which is low for the GCH
