What's a good chilly treat to get in the parks? Also, what's a good way to cool off in the middle of the day?

Traveling with DH and DD5. Looking forward to WDW. NOT looking forward to the heat. :beach: :mickeybar :goodvibes

Dole whips are always a nice treat. On one hand, it's nothing more than pineapple ice cream. On the other hand, there's something about having them at WDW that makes them special.

As for cooling off in the middle of the day, my personal favorite is to go back to the hotel for a nap and swim. If you're doing the parks commando style (i.e. spending all day there without a break), I'd suggest either riding the nearest water ride multiple times or else finding an air-conditioned attraction with a long running time that lets you sit down and relax. My favorites for the latter are Ellen's Energy Adventure, The Carousel of Progress, and the audioanimatronic show at the US pavilion in EPCOT.

We loved the frozen lemonade or frozen raspberry lemonades.

Slushy frozen orange juice at Adventureland in Magic Kingdom.

Frozen chocolate covered bananas at MGM Studios.

Slushy frozen lemonade at Asia in Animal Kingdom.

Unique flavored snowcones at World Showcase in Epcot.

My top refreshing treats:

1. Fiesta Margarita - combination of lime, strawberry, mango & kiwi (Mexico-Epcot)
2. Stop Light Margarita - layered strawberry, golden and melon (Backlot Canteen-MGM)
3. Dole pineapple whip floats
4. Frozen lemonade
5. Kaki gori -shave ice in strawberry, honeydew melon, tangerine, or rainbow (Japan-Epcot)
6. Izakadoodle (sp?)

Chocolate covered frozen banana's

I TOTALLLLLLY agree - I mean you can really get ice cream types of treats anywhere, but for some eason the chocolate frozen bananas just seem to be one of my favorites!!
They dont have them everywhere though, I do believe Adventureland at MK has them and possibly AK

Tell me more about these, please. We love snowcones!
These are traditional snowcones, but a variety of different flavors....I remember strawberry & rainbow flavors as the traditional flavors that they had...not sure of the others or if they change the flavors on any type of time basis.

Those snowcones in Epcot at Japan are called Kaki Gori. They are snowcones on steroids - much more flavorful than the norm. Love 'em.

And the legendary Dole Whip, which is, indeed, only pinapple soft serve. But this past week, I took a walk on the wild side and got a Dole Whip float, made with pineapple juice. Yeah, babe!

DD is partial to the strawberry ice cream bars (are they Minnie? Can't remember.)

Blanq, I see you beat me to the punch on Kaki gori. But it's worth repeating.

My friend just got back, and she said the Dole Whip Float was one of the best things she's ever eaten in her life. We have some amazing ice cream shops around here, so since she said that we will definately try them when we are there next week.

Frozen lemonade - very refreshing!

Water, water & more water.

I agree with taking a break & heading back to the pool for a swim. Very refreshing and gets you ready for another round at the park.

I love Blast-off Blue Raspberry Frozen Carbonated Drinks at the Lunching Pad yummy!! Also frozen lemonade is good!

An itzakadoozie is the only way to go when it is hot!

I can't believe I have to ask, but what is an itzakadoozie?
A few years ago, I had a frozen strawberry bar, I think it was Minnie [something]. Is that, by chance, an itzakadoozie?

An itzakadoozie is a really big popsicle that has like 4 flavors all twisted together!
