We both get muffins for breakfast today, choc chip for me and blueberry for DH, which we eat in our room while watching the Ryder Cup. We set off for Animal Kingdom at 10am. First stop is EE, I had said that I would give it another try but once there decide I don't want to so DH goes in the single rider line and I find a bench to sit on. I'm not there long when I spot 2 familiar faces. I call out Meryll's name and they both stop, I see the puzzled look on their faces and then they turn towards me. We have a chat for a bit about what we've been up to since we saw them and then DH comes back from his ride, we chat a bit more and part company knowing we'll see them tonight. We spot Devine and i'm very excited. (Back at home when DH is going through the photos he calls me over and goes what are these photos of? I couldn't remember, luckily he could!)
We head to the Safari stopping on route to get some rapid FPs. As usual the safari is great and we get some FPs so we can ride again later.
Off to the rapids and a soaking, we don't mind though as its really hot. Lunch is called us so we go to Flame Tree BBQ and both get the pork sandwich, its only ok though.
We go on the safari again and I take more photos, then we hit the trail (I could watch the gorillas for ages).
We catch the train over to the conservation station as I want to meet Jiminy Cricket but sadly he isn't due back out again for a while, I do stroke some goats though then its back on the train and over to FOTLK which I adore, lastly we do Dinosaur, we would have liked to have done the other trail but its time for our ADR at Yak & Yeti. I get bourbon chicken and DH has Mahi Mahi, the potions are huge and we both enjoy it a lot.
We try to go to the trail we missed but its closed now although the park is open for EMH so we exit the park and go back to POFQ to get changed into our costumes then head over to MK. We arrive just as a villains show is about to start so we stop to watch that.
Next up is Splash Mountain as its a walk on, we even get a boat to ourselves, I want to get the ride photo but DH's face is hidden behind his hat so its not worth it. Next its BTM which we ride twice in a row on the front row as no one is waiting, its great in the dark. We get some candy then go on pirates. We head to the hub to get a spot for the fireworks and I text Meryll to let her know where we are and they come to meet us, the fireworks are stunning.
The 4 of us go to a shop so Meryll and I can get the passholders pin then we go on the hunt for some candy. As M & S had seen the earlier parade we part ways as we plan to see the late one so we go to get a spot. The parade is fab. We head off to get more candy and meet some characters. We get our photo with all 7 dwarfs which is cool.
I go looking for Minnie Mouse and arrive 5 minutes too late, i'm gutted, we get some more candy then head out of the park about 11:45pm before the mad rush at the end, we quickly get on the monorail, then a tram and head home.
That night we saw lots of girls dressed as Minnie Mouse and Tinkerbelle, and lots of Pirates. Lots of Alice in Wonderlands and Toy Story costumes inspired by the recent movies no doubt. And oddly a lot of Super Mario Brothers. The best costume I saw was a group of friends, one man was Sorcerer Mickey (not so odd) but all his friends were brooms who were carrying buckets (which doubled as their trick or treat bags) I thought they were great.
