Chilis gift card offer

Where do you enter the code at? Can you use the Chili card at Macaroni grill too?

it was on the order page for the brinker site that Chilis sells the cards through.

I looked on there but there was no place for me to put the code.

Thanks, I just ordered $50 and got 4 $5 cards free with the code (entered it in the coupon box on order page). I'm done shopping for dbil now!
Great deal!

I wondered if I could stop in to upgrade my $25 card I got through MyPoints to a $25 + $5 bonus. hmmm :rotfl: Anyone bold enough to go try?

i also got these at smokey bones and buca de beppo. we just bought gift cards prior to paying the bill, then used those to pay with and still have the extra for after the new year. smokey bones was $5 GC with $25 purchase and bucs de beppo was $20 GC with $100 purchase

We eat at Chili's a lot! Last year I purchased $100.00 worth of gift cards for our family. We got 4 $5.00 gift cards for free. Last year, the stipulations was that only one $5.00 card could be used on a bill. So, even if your bill was $100.00, you could only use one card. (the can not be combined with any other offer stipulation). I also ordered a kid meal for my daughter for pick up and was told that they coupons were not good on kid meals. I haven't gotten ours yet this year so I'm not sure if the rules are still the same.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a good deal.

We like to stretch our gift cards out over time by paying 1/2 of the meal with a GC and the other 1/2 cash. It's not so bad going spending $25 cash and the other $25 on the GC. Does anyone else do the same?

We've also been getting Chili's To Go much more often instead of eating in the restaurant. Our bill is so much less since we're not paying for alcohol and a tip. The food still tastes the same.

I'm just a little annoyed because I called a manager first and was given incorrect info. I read the fine print on the offer after reading what the actual card said from a pp. It does say only within the advertisement of the bonus GC offer $25 minimum, but doesn't clarify. I also saw a TV ad and it only said the same thing. I think it should have read one bonus GC use per $25 purchased in one visit -- or something like that. Something that reads like the back of the actual bonus GC. IMO, the promotion is deceptive. It seems to me that they aren't making the conditions clear prior to the sell of the GC's. (I feel personally slighted as I got info. from a manager that is contrary to the conditions, as well.)
I think they should label it a $5 COUPON for every $25 purchased in GC's. Heck, I have a $5 off $25 Applebees COUPON in my person right now and did nothing but cut it out of an ad.
But, live and learn, I guess. I don't think I would have bought all my GC's from Chili's had I understood the promo. I would have also bought some from O'Charleys and another local restaurant who are running similar promotions (not sure if they are true GC's or coupons at those places).
Because I used the Tivo promo. code, I will 18 of the $5 coupons (I refuse to call them bonus GC's from here on out, because I view them as coupons.) Maybe I will do as the quoted pp and use some GC's (in my case some which were going to be Christmas gifts) for my family so we can utilize the coupons and buy GC's for those I need to give gifts from somewhere else. Use a $25 gift card toward my inexcess of $50 meal and a coupon for $5 off and pay the remainder in cash. I may even give the coupons to those that I give GC's so they can make the most of it.
Sigh. I hate these lessons I have to learn the hard way.

.

question- do the 5 dollar bonus cards only apply if you purchase more than $25?? I was thinking the 5 dollar bonus cards would be perfect for my lunches, but if I have to purchase 25 dollars worth at lunch, it would hardly be worth it!! TIA! :grouphug:

No, the $5 cards are just $5. You have to buy $25 of gift cards to get the free $5 ones, not spend it at the restaurant.

:rotfl2: I give up. I don't think Chili's even knows what they are doing. This is the email response I received...
We thank you for your e-mail and apologize for any confusion. You are able to use more than one $5 bonus card per visit, but there are some restriction on their use. You can only use one $5 bonus card for every $25 tat is spent. For example, if you purchase $1-$49 one card can be used. If you spend $50-$74 two cards can be redeemed. And if you spend $75-$99 three $5 bonus cards can be applied to the balance, and etc...
" For example, if you purchase $1-$49 one card can be used" Huh? I thought you had to purchase a minimum of $25???
I got the email response earlier today and then I actually talked with their department today because I feel thieir promotion is not clearly defined and the restrictions are not made clear prior to purchase. The first rep. I talked to tried to give me the company line, but finally admitted that she could see how this is a problem and that it isn't clear. She put me through to her supervisor. Now, she was not a nice lady and made some claims that I think are false (ex. I could take my purchased GC's into a Chili's restaurant and convert them back to cash -- has anyone ever heard of such thing?). I ended up being able to cancel my order. The whole thing just made me dislike the idea of giving Chili's that much money when it is my personal opinion that they are trying to misrepresent the bonus for buying gift cards.
I may go back and buy a lesser amount in GC's because the coupons are nice, not a great deal, but I'll eat there in Jan or Feb and could use a couple of coupons. (Know that I understand that I am getting a bonus coupon or a discount card, I am OK with buying some). But, I'll buy some of my needed GC's from different places some of which are offering some sort of bonus, as well.

By the restrictions listed on the website it sounds clear enough. You get to use one $5 coupon for every $25 spent. I think the email was just a mistake when they said $1-49. I imagine, by the website rules, that they mean $25 to use one, $26-50 for two, $51-75 to use three and so on. Still think it is a great deal. We are giving our neighbors the $50 GCs as a Christmas gift and keeping the $20 in coupons for us. We are going to take a couple of friends out to dinner and will easily hit the $100 mark.

From all of my communication with the gift card people, it is my understanding that you must spend a minimum of $25 to apply the $5 bonus card. So, your $25 bill would then be $20.

ITA, the email was a typo I know they meant $25 to $49.
I think you are getting a good deal by using $20 in bonus cards on a $100 bill. I would do that, too. But, having $90 in bonus cards would require me to spend what $450 at Chili's (then subtract the $90) in two months? I'm sure it was clear to some and confusing to others. IMO, they could and should make it very clear: as clear as it is on the actual bonus card. I thought it seemed odd and as I have written before, I called our local chili's and was given incorrect info. there, too. Some places do give actual bonus gift cards when you purchase gift cards...not sure if they are doing it this year, but Blockbuster has given $5 true gift cards when you purchase $50 in gift cards.
This is a good deal as long as you know what you are getting.

I believe they have updated the website since I looked at it on Friday. Now, they have a pic of a bonus card on the gift card page.

Yup. That's an awful lot of eaten! LOL!

Thanks, OP!! Saved me a trip to Chili's - my big kids love to get these gc's in their stockings - I ordered 5 $25 gc's and got 10 $5.00 bonus coupons. They can always use the $5 coupons in Jan and Feb and ask for separate checks (applying one coupon to each of their meals) - then save the $25 gcs for another trip! :smooth:

How did you get 10 $5.00 cards? I thought that it was a free $5.00 card with each $25.00 gift card purchase.

Well this is irritating. I got my order today and I got the 1 $5 card but not the second one I was supposed to receive from the TIVO promotion. I have a call into them.

I worked for Brinker (who owns Chili's)for several years so let me try to clarify a thing or two. The GC's can NOT be exchanged for cash. They are all good- no matter where you bought them or what name they have on the front- at Chilis, Ramano's Macaroni Grill, Corner Bakery(?), Big Bowl, Maggiano's and On the Border, as well as a few places I can't think of right now. The $5 bonus that you get is actually a $5 coupon good towards dining in the new year. You can use 1 $5 coupon for every $25 dollars spent in the restaurant. The bounce-back coupons (the real name of the $5 bonus is a bounce- back coupon, because it requires you to "bounce back" to the restaurant and spend more money) may only be good for the place named on the front, I'm not sure. I can tell you that I worked at an On The Border and we did take the Chili's bounce-backs, as it is all the same company.

A very nice rep from Brinker called me back and appologised for not sending the TIVO bonus card and they are sending it right away, so all good again. :sunny:

I used the 'holiday' code in the coupon box for the additional Tivo promotion cards. :smooth:
