What does Larry King ever do? Larry is Larry. He asks ridiculous questions that my 5th grader would know better than to ask and he babbles like a brook. I swear, sometimes I think he forgets that he's not just yakking to himself. DH simply cannot watch him. Says he looks just like a vulture sitting there. I told him not to be so hard on vultures.

I did have to laugh about the miner with the hairy....region above his underwear. There was a female reporter shown in a window on the screen and I happened to glance at her. She was all and then she had to do her dead level best to not . You could tell she was having to work at not and it was definitely because of the furry region she'd caught a glance of. The camera was just frozen on it.

And the *hair* was one situation I was talking about earlier. Not 2 minutes after the hairy situation came the crotch grabbing one. LOL Those poor guys...after all they've been through they can grab all they want IMHO.

Been up since about 7am watching.

I am really impressed at how each one of them had a job while down there and how they really were able to work together and make the best of the situation. This sort of thing has the potential to go in so many directions and most of them are not good. There are so many interesting stories that are coming out of this.

I am really amazed at how the families just basically moved into the desert to be close to their loved ones. And it is so great to see the President and his wife there for this.

Basically he was just not "reporting" which is what they needed to do. He is more of an interviewer and failed at this task. I think they realized it as eventually, they kept primarily to the live feeds from Chile.

Yeah, it started with him proclaiming that the last man out would get the best book deal. Then when speculating on their health and well being he asked the question that was on all the world's lips; "How long will they have to wear those sunglasses?"

I switched to a Spanish channel.

Its very moving. One miner said, and I paraphrase. "I was with God and I was with the devil and God chose me".

Aw, I hadn't heard that. I love that.

They are going like clockwork now! One guy gets out, everyone claps and less than a minute later the cage goes right back down.

It's not quite that quick but it's going pretty smoothly isn't it? They're bringing up one man every 40 minutes or so but the final tally is quite a few hours away yet.

I'm just loving the reunions.

Did anyone hear on CNN about the "33" thing?

The collapse happened on the 33 week of the year. ( I actually looked this one up and the collapse happened Aug 5, and the 33rd week began Aug 8)
It took 33 days for the drill to reach the target.
The rescue began last night, technically on 10/13/10. Add the numbers up, you get 33.
And of course, there are 33 miners.
