We're planning on going to WDW this weekend. There may be rain in the forecast, so I'd like to get a child's umbrella for DS (3.5). He already has a Mickey rain poncho. I'd love to get a Disney umbrella for him, but the local TDS says they haven't received any this year. I don't have enough time to mail order one, so I was thinking I'd just pick one up at the World, once we get there. Has anyone seen them there this year? Any tips on where to look? I would think they'd be pretty common, but you never know. I'm also wondering how much they would cost.

TIA

Oops! I meant to post this on the families board. :o

I haven't noticed any child's sized umbrellas in particular, however, sold property-wide are the standard black folding umbrellas with Mickey on it. I've found them to have a(n) (annoyingly so, for an adult) very short handle, short enough to be manageable for a small child. The umbrella portion itself isn't all that large either. Any small child than can handle a child's sized umbrella can manage one of these as well. (My 6yr old carries one, and did at age 3 or 4.) Cost is $10 if I remember correctly and can be purchased in most gift shops property wide, including at the resorts. I hope this helps

Thank you! I was hoping for the children's style with the plastic balls on the ends to prevent poking accidents, but this will do in a pinch.

Were you working during Presidents' Week? I'd swear our KS driver/guide was named Donna.

Thanks again!

I got a really cute princess umbrella at Toys R Us last month for my DD4. It was either $7 or $8. I remember they had a bunch of different umbrellas but don't remeber specifically what else they had. I know there were some boy ones too. If you have time, you may want to check them out before you go. Have fun!!!!

TRU

Try TRU. I found a Minnie umbrella for my dd before Easter. I think they had princess ones too.
