My daughter is 42.75 inches tall.. we leave in 69 days do you think it is possible that she will grow to 44 inches by then? I am sure that she would love Space Mountain and some of the other ones but she has to be 44 inches, oh and she is 3 weeks away from turning 5. Anyone remember how much your DD grew in 2 months?

TIA

Are you measuring her without shoes? Try measuring her with the shoes she will wear. And maybe big hair will help! :rotfl2:

My DS magically grew 2 inches right before our trip last year in like 3 weeks (no seriously). He was so proud that he was tall enough to ride Barnstormer and Stitch's Great Escape. We are suprisingly at the 44 inch mark now so we will get to do those things this year. Sounds like your 4/5 year old is a daredevil like mine. I swear he will ride anything he is tall enough for.

That's very hard to answer because the growth rate is not a straight line. Some periods children grow a lot in a short time. Here's some things a peditrician once told me: children show signs when they are about to grow like chubby faces, increased appetite, excessive tiredness, complaints about pains in legs or arms and needing new shoes. When you see these signs, it means their bodies are getting ready to grow a bit. As children get older many of these signs tend to disappear. Sometimes they start again in early adolesence. It's very possible your DD will make it. My suggestion would be if she is very close, find a pair of sneakers with a good thick heel. It works for us. We only do this if our DS is close. Although he would love to do the extreme rides, height restrictions are there for a purpose. If he's close we try any trick we can. Good luck! My son finally made the 44 inch mark about 4 months ago. He's five and will be 5 1/2 by December. That puts him at the 50% for boys his age.

We did this a few years ago (w/o shoes) and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the parks.....my son was :yay:

I forgot about this when I did my trip report. Not once did a CM measure my twins the whole 9 days we were there. Both are 40 and 41 inches.

Dh and I measured them ourselves at the beginning of the ride and they were never questioned. I thought this was odd given all the debate about high shoes, etc...

My dd is 4.5, and she measured 41.5 the day before we left about a month ago. We measured over the weekend, and she is 43 inches now. It's possible but hard to predict. :wizard:

my ds is a peanut he is 3.5 and only 36" we are going in May. I hope come that trip he will be taller so he can ride the rides that he wants to go. it was hard when we go to the fairs and all his friend go on rides (they are the same age :confused3 ) and he can not go on the ride. :sad2:

You can stick the odor eater inserts into your childs shoes. If you double up, you can get almost a half an inch. However, you should know that my kids love Roller Coasters but on Space Mountain (Florida) riders will be sitting by themselves. We went to California and they sat next to us. They thought Space Mountain was the best ride. Also, I felt more comfortable knowing I could hold onto them. My kids bailed out of the ride in florida. I was happy because there safety is my number one concern. It isn't too much for an adult but the kids bounce around a lot in their seats. Possibly, banging there face or hurting there neck.

LOL :cool1:

DD6 is 46 inches tall and she was measured several times when we went in July just to be sure. I personally would not put taller shoes on or stuff anything in their shoes because there is a reason that height restrictions are placed on rides. Those one or two inch differences may mean life or death for your child. I will not take those kind of risks. We will go back another time and she can ride those rides when she meets the height requirement.

Just my .02 cents!! :goodvibes

Don't know if this helps but, the average child grows 1.5-3 inches a year.
