Child's couch?

Hey everyone!

I am going to do a room-makeover for DD's 7th birthday in March. She wants a more "cool" room, not so much little girl-ish.

Her one request is - she wants a couch. She doesn't have a tv in her room, but I guess she wants it for when friends come over, and to read books on. I'm not looking to spend a fortune since I want to redo almost everything (except the carpet) - like painting, accessories, window treatments, bedding, etc.

Anyone have a child-size couch or chair that they recommend?

I was going to suggest a love-seat from IKEA so she doesn't outgrow it.

I second one from Ikea! (and it can double as a 'bed' when she is older and has sleepovers?)

either that - or you get her the kind of bunkbed that is a 'daybed' at the bottom and a 'bed' at the top

Thanks guys! I'll take a look. I think I need to come up with a plan of how I want the room to look. I was thinking about getting her a small desk too, so I need to see if this will all fit!! haha

DD has a foam fold out couch in her room. It is too small, really. I thought it was bigger when I ordered it, but, oh, well, she still likes it.

My dd is 11 and wanted a place to sit, read, listen to music etc but her room isn't set up in a way we could do a couch or even a small loveseat.

We shopped alot, in stores and online and ended up getting a few beanbag chairs - she loves them!!

We have 3 in her room and 2 in my 9yos room and they are all different and fun. This way they can move them from room to room - or even out of the way if they want to use the floor space in the room to dance etc. They like to take them into the guest room to watch TV as the sofa bed is very uncomfortable and the bean bags are more cozy.

Just another idea!

Thanks! I really appreciate the ideas. I do like the idea of the bean bags because then she could move them out of the way...

The girl loves to do karaoke in front of the mirror!!!
