We leave on our first trip to WDW in 18 days! I called today and ordered my tickets, made my room request (non-smoking with a med fridge), but forgot to mention that we would also be celebrating DS's 9th b-day while in WDW. Should I call back and mention this? We are staying at POP. Do they do anything special for birthday children? Thanks!
We stayed at POP in March for DD's 6th b-day. No need to call, when you check in mention it to the CM that your celebrating your DS's b-day. They will ask you who his favorite character is. They left a signed autograph picture from Minnie Mouse and 3 balloons for my DD on her birthday. We came back from the parks and they left it right in front of the door so when we opened it all you saw were the balloons and picture. DD was so surprised and happy that Minnie Mouse came in our hotel and left them for her.
Definitely mention it, and tell every cast member you see. We celebrated my daughter's 7th bday this year and she had a wonderful day. We began with breakfast at Crystal Palace and she got special attention from the characters and a signed card. We collected pins from all the parks - make sure you get one at Guest Services - and every cast member that sees it will wish her a happy bday. She got to stay on a couple of rides and go again. There was a card, balloons in the room and a towel elephant, as well as a message on the voicemail from Mickey (we had left early in the morning.) DD did Alice's bday tea party at the GF, then finally Cinderella's dinner at GF, where a cast member gave her one of her pins.
Upshot is that it's rare to get special attention in Disney given the number of people - take this opportunity to let your DD shine!
Goto the Guest services at any park at MK it's right on your left as you walk in! And tell them it's youre daughters birthday! They will Give you a pin that she can wear and she will get all kinds of special attention from the cm's!! She may even be invited to join the parade down main street! We did this for my daughters 6th birthday! She loved it! and Aerial invited her to join the main street parade!! the Pin is free and wait til you see all the attention she gets! And you can get it the first day you get there even if it isn't her birthday yet!
