Child's 1st hair cut

We are taking my niece for her first trip in November. She will be turning 5 and has never had her haircut. I have read that the Barber shop on Mainstreet does cuts but what about Bibbiti Bobbidi Boutique? Do they cut hair or only fix it?

BBB does not cut hair. In fact, they will not vary even a small bit from the set styles they offer. The "fairy godmothers in training" there are not stylists, but are licensed hair braiders.

We really liked the Main Street Barbershop for the first haircut package. It's very reasonable, considering you get the Mickey ears and everything. They do a great job with the kids and give you a little baggie with their hair and "pixie dust" as well as a commemorative certificate.

Agree, the barbershop is where it's at. Got my daughters first hair cut there - granted she was 3 1/2 as her hair was slow to come in - but for $15 and a walkup a relative Disney steal

We did the first haircut package this past October. Ds just turned 1! They were wonderful!! They knew exactly how to keep him occupied. I would try to get a reservation though. I'm glad we had one. I had made it for 1pm. The walk up wait at that
time was over an hour and a half. We only waited 10 minutes. Maybe not so bad in the morning?

PPs are correct. No cut at BBB. Last trip, one daughter did the BBB (an exorbitant rate for what they do in my opinion) and the younger daughter had the first haircut at the barbershop. Honestly was much more pleased with the look, the care, and the whole atmosphere of the Barbershop. It's tiny, but they take their time and put the BEST confetti on there. Even my daughter who went to BBB preferred the bigger glitter and they dusted her for free. And one of the few things at Disney I would actually consider a value. Have a great time!

Is Niece's hair long? They dont have sinks, they'll only be able to dampen her hair with a spray bottle. As you can see from my profile pic granddaughter went for a style, only $5, much better value than BBB (fyi they are prohibited from doing buns) also for tipping bring cash, it can not be added if charging. They use standard register.

If you plan to do both, I'd suggest different days assuming your schedule has you in MK on 2 days. The first haircut comes with a little pony-tail style and pixie dust as well. If you go to BBB the same day, you'd either ask to skip part of the first haircut process, or have all that pixie dust combed out at BBB later. Just my opinion, but I think it would diminish the Barber Shop experience. Let her enjoy each on a different day if possible.

I will do them on different days. Thanks for the advice!! Her hair is down almost to her behind.
All of your advice is just making me more excited and we have to wait until November 1st!!!!!
