I'm looking for waist packs for two girls ages 7 & 10 for our WDW trip. They don't need to hold much but we'd like for them to be able to handle stuff like their lip balm and the passports for Epcot and some spending money. My husband will carry a backpack that will have rain ponchos, water and stuff. I'm using a waist pack that is larger than what I want for the girls to wear.

Has anyone found these at local stores in your area in recent months? I just started looking but have not found them yet.

We live in small town and I couldn't find any fanny packs anywhere. I ended up going to a second hand place and finding all kinds for next to nothing. Many had company logo's, which I then covered with iron on's from the dollarstore in a theme my DD would like. Worked out great. There was different sizes to choose from to meet our various needs.

Have a great trip.

timzagain, I found those by Everest at Amazon. The one drawback that I found was the that the reviewers mentioned the short zipper. I'm concerned that the World Showcase passports won't be able to fit easily into them without being bent. Do you actually have one that you could measure the length of the zipper for me? Or did you find it on an Internet search like I did?

Sorry - I did an internet serach to find it!

I don't know how big your kids are for their ages, but perhaps a smallish adult sized one will work instead. I bought 2 of our fanny packs in a local dollar store, the other 1 was bought in a Walmart in Orlando last summer. The Walmart one is embroidered with Florida and a picture of Mickey! I'm sure I paid about $5 or $6 for it - lots of room without being overly bulky

You may also want to look into a cinch bag (I think that's what they are called :confused3) My DD LOVES them and has used them on our last few tripsto WDW as well as other parks we go to. They are kind of like a light weight back pack and they can hold a lot of stuff....:thumbsup2

I went to our local REI store this afternoon and bought Eagle Creek waist packs for them. They're extremely well made and are just the size I wanted with zippers that close two separate compartments. They were only available in black but I got colorful decorations to put on the zipper pulls to tell them apart.

I used cinch bags for my DDs on our last DLR trip, and they were great! I had a hard time finding fanny packs for kids, and I stumbled over the cinch bags int he Walmart craft section. $4 each plus I did buy some iron on letters to personalize them with their initials. The girls loved having their own bags and DH loved not being the packmule!
