I hope someone can answer this...... I want to buy the $99 tickets that come with free childrens tickets, BUT my kids are over 12, am I able to just upgrade the free tickets to adult ??

The tickets are the same for adults and children there is nothing to upgrade to.

Isn't Phantom the BEST!!!! Our boys will be 9 and 12 on our next trip and we will also take our nephew, who will be 13. She saved us a bundle!

Thanks Phantom!!!

So, let me get this straight - you are saying that if you buy 2 adults tickets and get 2 child tickets free, a child over the age of 9 can use these tickets. So, a family of 4 (2 adults, a 12 and a 13 yo) can get away with using 2 adult and 2 child tickets :confused3

I bought the family free for all at the HRH. I have a 2-8-12 year olds so I bought an extra ticket for the 12yo the 2 yo did not count. Can I cancel this ticket? And use the extra childs ticket for him? You cannot tell the difference in the tickets?

You will probably not be able to cancel or get a refund. You have the hotel special not the internet special. I am not even sure what tickets they give you for the "family free" when you are staying onsite.

Are you sure about this? we went last february and also did the internet deal one child free per adult. we picked up our tickets at the kiosk. and it said right on the back of the ticket for my daughter child ticket the back of mine said adult. maybe this has changed since then? i am curious to know since we are going again this february.

Maybe you didn't have the 5 day tickets. I am not sure what special they ran last February.

Are you 100% sure about this? This would be a great way for me to save $100 on my little bro's ticket (he is 16)

Feel free to check the other threads and read what others have written that have received the tickets.

I am not advocating trying to beat the system. If everyone decides to order half the amount of tickets so they can pass it on to the adults, Universal may decide to discontinue the offer. It is a wonderful offer and I would hate to see it discontinued. I bought 4 Bonus tickets 3 1/2 years ago before there was a child's free option and was thrilled at what a good deal it is even without the child's free offer. If I were ordering today, I would still buy tickets for my teens. I am not the moral police and everyone is free to do as they wish.

This whole discussion is just getting a little uncomfortable for me, so I am bowing out.

i have bought a package before and understand how it works.

if you do not want the family free for all portion of the tickets, they will not change the price of your package.

you have the option of:
cancelling the hotel special package and booking room only.
then buy the tickets at the on line universal site.

the package has no substitutions.
it is everything or nothing.

i am sure of what you posted is how it was for you one year ago.

universal puts on great specials and many times, do not repeat them.

right now, the 2006 ticket prices are the same for the 2005 prices ONLY if you purchase them on line. at the gate, you will feel the increase.

yes, universal has a special going on now as about 15 different people that have posted. they have received their tickets and have relayed what they received. at any point, this could change. universal has the right to modify or change their promos.

for about 7 different months in 05, the special was buy the 2 day 2 park tickets and 3 free bonus days AND a coupon booklet of over $200 discounts good at the park and city walk. the same special is going on now for tickets but without the booklet.

i think it was in 04 universal advertised buy an Annual Pass , get 2 years for the price of 1 year...........haven't seen that special ever before.

bottom line, specials come and go. they are changed frequently.

if one special is not selling at the rate universal wants or expects, they sometimes sweeten the deal. i bought last year but only when the coupon booklet became part of the promo back in march. that one stopped at the end of june, came back for september and stopped , then returned for nov and dec. that promo is now gone for this year so far.

i never know when to buy in order to get the best deal that suits me the best.
i like the coupon booklet the best and i like the 3 free bonus days.
who knows, maybe with all the hype on these boards, universal may reverse what they have been doing and change it. adult/child passes enforced???

if you are going to go to universal and qualify for the free tickets, wonderful.
if you are planning ahead to use the spare ticket for the future, don't be upset if your tickets you receive are marked as advertised on the website.
