Children's AP- can you get the discounts

this is because you have to be 18 years old or older to make a ressie at a WDW resort, and the AP has to be in the name of the person making the ressie. Wish it was different!

It is different. You can use a child's AP. The only requirement in getting an AP rate is that one of the occupants in the room must have an AP. It does not have to be the person in whose name the reservation is made nor does it have to be an adult.

The answer seems to differ depending on which CM you talk to. Some say the reservation has to be in the name of the AP holder (which means no child AP) and others are more flexible. Not sure what the "official" rule is.

I've never had any answer except yes.

I've never asked but there have been posts from people who were told an adult AP is required but I agree most of the posters haven't had any problem with a child AP.

Although not required I also get an AP for my wife. It encourages me to make an extra trip. Much easier to justify go to EPCOT just for dinner and Illuminations on a non-park day.

Been there, done that, got the discount! :hyper:

As long as the person with the AP is on the reservation list~no problem. Moot point in our family now, since the youngest is 10...oh, and the oldest are university/college bound.....and therefore, no money (and no trip) in the near future. :p
