Children of the 70's & 80's.. Colorforms & Shrinkydinks

I loved Fisher Price Little People items.

When I was 5 I got the Sesame Street townhouse.
I had the farm with the door that would moo when you opened it. The horse was my favorite.
My sister had the school.
I was envious of the daughter of the lady who styled my mom's hair. Her daughter had the Little People jet, the house with the working doorbell, the bus, the camper, the parking garage, a hospital, a houseboat and I believe a castle.
It was fun playing there.

You know, now they claim those little wooden people are dangerous, but I've never met anyone who choked by eating them. If they put them in their mouths their mom would cuff them on the head and take it away.

Now I think I'll look for Little People on ebay.

I had this! Also the skip it,clickclack, paper dolls, and I remember The Mickey Mouse show. How about jacks,Liddle Kiddles,Twist-n-Turn Barbie,Twiggy dolls,Mystery Date, Hands Down,Tip it? Do ya'll remember those? Gee,this is fun!
I found a bunch of the old toys at Cracker Barrel for pretty reasonable prices. My kids had fun playing w/some on the way to WDW.

OK, no one ever believes me when I tell them this, but I had a doll in the Barbie series called Growing Up Skipper. You twisted her arm, and she, ahem, developed--how shall I say this--a figure. Honestly. When I got older, I remember thinking, if it was only that simple. LOL. I still can't believe they sold such a doll--or that my parents bought it for me, for that matter!

I had Little House on the Prairie colorforms that I LOVED and always talked about -- they got ruined when our basement flooded when I was in middle school. DH found it on EBAY and bought it for me for Christmas -- I guess I must have talked about them A LOT!

I also remember Weeble Woobles, Malibu Barbie, and the 3 story Barbie house with the elevator, and Cabbage Patch kids. My mom ordered one for me for Christmas, but it didn't come until my birthday in February and it was a boy that was bald. I was SO disappointed!

LOL!! :rotfl2: I also had "Growing Up Skipper". I remember thinking it was so cool--one minute she was a girl and the next minute she was a woman!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I loved her!

My mom bought DS Madagascar colorforms when we drove to WDW in December. :)

You guys reminded me of a bunch of other great ones that I had forgotten about! Everything from Sit N Spin to Spirograph!

What about Fashion Plates - the ones you lined up a head, shirt and bottoms and went over with crayon?

I had a Strawberry Shortcake doll too, but she blew strawberry scented kisses when you hugged her - LOVED THAT DOLL! :thumbsup2

Oh yes and I loved my cabbage patch doll - but why did they make their heads so hard?! I remember laying on the floor and throwing her up in the air and trying to catch her. I missed ONCE and never did that again! Her head was definately harder than mine - OW! :lmao:

Ahh to be a kid again... :cloud9:
