Do you remember them? A post I just responded to made me think of Colorforms for some strange reason... I remember I had Smurf colorforms and Dukes of Hazzard - even though I had never seen the show! :confused3

I loved my colorforms! And shrinkydinks too! I still have the Barbie shrinkydink that says "This room belongs to Cassi" that was on the door to my very first bedroom! :)

What other things do you remember from childhood?

I LOVED my colorforms! I had a huge set that was Snoopy's birthday. I LOVED it.
Thanks for the memories.

When I was a kid, we always drove down to WDW. My parents would purchase some toys for us to play with ahead of time and not give them to us until we were in the car. The main toy I remember them buying us was colorforms. :goodvibes We also got an etch-a-sketch, crayons and coloring books...stuff like that. Ahhhh, the memories....

I remember those...How fun were they!!! :thumbsup2

My daughter just bought some Silly Putty the other day...Remember that? It now comes in several colors - the only thing is, it didn't smell the same as i remember...totally different...

OH MY GOSH!!! I had the exact same ones!!!! But mine said This room belongs to Sarah. ;) That is too funny!!

My favorites were Strawberry Shortcakes, My Little Ponies, Rainbow Brite, and She-Ra. I was the quintessential little girl in the '80s!!! :goodvibes

I bought DS(10) some Silly Putty last weekend and when I got home I was telling him to put in on the Sunday comics and when he peels it off you will see the comic on your silly putty - I used to love doing that when I was small - guess what???? Newsprint does NOT come off on the Silly Putty anymore - we all tried it and nothing..................

That's strange. My dd was playing with silly putty at school and the newsprint was coming off on it.

I loved colorforms & shrinky dinks! I still have a shrinky dink Christmas ornament I made when I was a kid, and we hang it on the Christmas tree every year.

My kids played with Silly Putty yesterday when we were on a long car ride. There is one now that'll change colors in your hand. You're right in that it doesn't smell the same way it used to when we were kids. Play Doh still smells the same, though.

I can't wait to stay at Pop Century and take a walk down Memory Lane with all of the stuff in the lobby. I saw a picture of one of their shadow boxes, and they have the original Simon in it! It's so big & clunky. I bought my kids a Simon and it goes much faster than our old Simons used to go. I guess the speed is set for kids in the Electronic Generation. I thought that Blip! moved too fast when I was a kid. :teeth:

That's weird because I tried it on the comics and then just regular newsprint and couldn't get anything to print off on the silly putty.................

Ooh - I just thought of another one - Skip It! lol

Oh - and pogo ball! Too funny! :Pinkbounc

And that jumprope that was attached to a stick - what was that called?

Does anyone remember Click Clacks ?? I used to play with these all the time on the way to school :lmao:

I used to have Nanny and the Professor colorforms!

I had Flinstones colorforms. Great fun back then. But now it seems lame by today's standards. Still, it kept me occupied for hours!

Many papers use "smudge proof" ink these days. It's the newspapers that are different, not the Silly Putty.

I'm a child of the 50's/60's and we had Colorforms and Silly Putty, so they were around for quite a while.

We also had the original Mickey Mouse Club. Today is Friday, so it's time for the Talent Roundup! :earsgirl: (Round 'em up, Head 'em in, Everybody's going to win, Step right up, Here we go, Oh what a rodeo!)

OMG, I had those too - I had totally forgot all about those.

I also had a skip-it - wow, memories!!!

I had a big set of Snoopy colorforms and it was a winter scene of some sort. I would use all of the Snoopys at once, like it was Snoopy and his whole family. Those things were so good for the imagination.
Click-clacks were so popular when I was in 5th grade that they were banned from school property!

Speaking of being banned - I remember slap bracelets - now those things were dangerous!

I remember the second round of the Mickey Mouse club!

Funny you should mention Shrinky Dinks. I just ordered a 50 pack of blank sheets and inkjet sheets from their website. We are going to make ornaments for the little tree we are taking to WDW in December.

I am going to use the inkjet sheets to print Disney movie posters on and make little movie poster ornaments. I was also going to make a lime green mickey head to put on my backpack.
