Children calling constantly?

Call your phone company to ask about adding call block service to your phone line so you can block incoming calls from specific phone numbers. This service isn't available in all states. But if it is, you should be able to block anywhere from 6 to 15 individual phone numbers by hitting *60 after their phone call.

On second thought, you may already had access to this service if you are paying for call waiting, caller id etc. Try hitting *60 after the next phone call and see what happens. Otherwise, call your phone company to find out how to add it.

I found general info at this link:

I believe so.

And I'm still curious if her daughter ever washed her hair.

Me too...and what she did about teachers gifts, did her hubby ever find a job after a gazillion interviews, did the wood in the vents make her house smell new, if her hubby was out of a job why didn't she go out and get one?

Too much drama!:charac2:

I asked her a while back and she flipped out. :confused3

Then again she has flipped out before, like when she threw out what the kids baked plus the cake mixes in her pantry. This makes me believe even more this is vhoffman.

My advice? Be straight with your kids...and it would be nice to be straight with us, too. ;)

Oh, and I remember her criticizing me for having so many posts. I have been here for over 7 years. I should have a lot more posts than I do, really. At least I don't have a life filled with drama. lol

You know the first time her kids call their friends with the new phone number (caller id), they will then have it and start calling it again. Never ending circle......

Can someone post a link to the various discussions that you are mentioning.
Ex:
Hair washing(I want to know).
Bike Thread.
I want to know just who vhoffman truly is:lmao:
WOW! I didn't realize how many posts she already had. She joined in May and already has over 400.
:cheer2:

I have been following the vhoffman/me again sagas. There are a couple new posts about flying.

HEY, I didn't join until March 2007 and I've got over 500 posts. You can find many of them on threads started by me again/vhoffman. I work full time and have a family. Basically, I'm just pretty much addicted to the DIS and have given up my social life and yes, I'll admit it, I've sometimes neglected my kids in order to Dis. However, they are all grown with the exception of my DD-13 and she spends most of her time on the phone these days.

By the way, I'm still wondering if maybe me again/vhoffman is also angel0. Did anyone see that thread from 6/28/2007 about going off her birth control w/o telling her husband, to get pregnant. She also really likes to tell everyone how many material possessions they have.

Someone may have to update me a bit here. Last I heard vhoffman/me again's DH was laid off and they were in a financial bind. So I don't understand how they can afford all these cell phones for the kids and land lines and adding a 2nd line? And if hubby is jobless what are all these important in home business calls he is on all the time? :confused3

And why is it so hard to just say "DO NOT CALL THIS PHONE NUMBER EVER AGAIN" in a very forcefull voice that will get the message across? You are (supposed to be) the grown up. Be an adult and stand up to the children.

I see I may have to do some more reading tomorrow.

Both my children have given out our home phone number to their friends (although they were told to just give out their cell number). Well, their friends call constantly, and I mean constantly. They call, get voice notes, hang up, then call immediately again. They will do this 5-6 times in a row, seems they figure we will pick up if they keep calling.

Any suggestions? I'm about ready to tear my hair out with the phone situation!

I guess this depends on how old your kids are, but since they have cell phones I am assuming they are old enough for this to work. Tell them they have x amount of time to make it crystal clear to their friends that they are not to call the home number. If it does not stop by xxxx date then they will pay the money to have a second line installed and the monthly bill for it. The money can come from savings, allowance, xmas/bday money, working odd jobs about the house to "work off" the bill, etc.

DH really doesn't runa business from home, just the ocassional call that doesn't need to be interrupted. Like calls to China! .

Simple solution-get rid of call waiting! I can NOT stand that option. It makes the person being asked to "hold" feel that the other person is deciding if the new call is more important than yours.

My DH has his office in our home & we NEVER had call waiting. Every company he has worked for gives him a generous $$ to cover a second line for the fax machine and another $$ for his cell-where all the biz calls come in on.

The kids your children are friendly with sure do know how to complicate your lives!:scared1:

:surfweb: I, too, am familiar with vhoffman. ((Or should I say I am too familair with Vhoffman)) I think I was sucked into the dramatic thread regarding teachers gifts - pricy store bought vs. home made... or somehting of the sort. I thought this one was a little redundant as well, being that there was a simple solution for the phone problem yet she was unable to see it or accept it. She just kept dwelling on it, but i didnt have the time or energy to get sucked into that one as well. Shame on her for sucking me in once, shame on me for getting sucked in twice. :sad2: Shame on her for being do darn dramatic!! Life is waay to short and precious to be so catty and materialistic. People will like you and be interested in you for who you are; not what you have. We actually have had this discussion with our children on numerous occasions.... :teacher:

I missed the bike episode - whats that all about?? Oh!!! Is that teh one about the neighborhood kid telling her son what a loser he is for having a handme down bike?? I thought it sounded a little weird....:confused3 But then again, I am a little weird!!?? :lmao:
