Children at Dinner shows

Hi all, we have always wanted to take in a dinner show whilst on hol but we never seem able to fit one in. This time we have our 18 month old dd with us.
Have we missed our oppertunity or can we take her with us?
Anyone else had this problem i.e are these shows suitable for children so young?

It's been many, many years since we've done a dinner show, but I'm sure there are shows out there which would be suitable, and equallly sure there are people out there to help you.

We went to the Lua at the Polynesian. Plenty of kids there - but the show is a bit cheesy!!

Hi,

We took our just-turned-one-year-old DS to Buffalo Bill's in DLRP. We asked for seats quite high up. After an initial shock of the loudness of it all, and needing to sit on a knee, he was fine and seemed to really enjoy it!!!

I'd say go for it.

We really enjoyed the Backyard Barbeque, and it's also a bit more informal in that your not just sitting watching a show, but there's a bit of dancing for you to carry your 18 month old in your arms and join in, and the characters join in too. Also it's not table service , you sit at long picnic tables, and help yourself, so there are plenty of people moving around so you can take the little on for a walk around. We've done the Luau and Hoop de Doo, but enjoyed the Barbeque the most - and it's cheaper.

we have taken kids to the Poly Luau, and also the Hoop de Doo - both are great for kids.

I have been to Mickeys Backyard BBQ and Wild Bills in Fla. To be honest I would imagine it would be hard going to a dinner show with a young child. BBQ would be great. Its informal and she would love the characters.

Wild bills was ok. I think the loud bangs would scare her. Unless she can sleep through you might be feeling tense and worried if she starts to cry. They do earlier showings it might be worth going to that one instead.

I am not saying no its just I wont take my children until the boys are Casey's age 7. Only because I know they wont sit still for the show. They will lie on the floor rolling around or shouting at each other. Also I would be on tender hooks in case they play up.

Bear in mind I have twin boys. They can be really hard to handle at times. You might be fine. Just find out the times, whats involved i.e bangs and go from there. I am sure there will be a show for you.
