I have a question. My dd will be nine on our next trip. We can get the meal plan because we'll be staying at DVC. However, if you get a kid's meal plan, do you have to order off the children's menu? I think we'd survive the table service places. (she likes steak but the kid's sides, I can live with the kids, and eat her sides plus the appetizer, etc, although I don't know how it would work for breakfast.) But what about counter service? Lets face it, the kids options are weak at best at most of them. Anyone done the children's meal plan?

That's a great question to which the answer is technically "yes, a child must order off the child's menu." However, my experience was different.

When my wife would order at counter service while i found a table with my two daughters, they didn't seem to ask or differentiate whether we were using childrens or not -- they simply deducted one counter for each of us.

However, when all four of us would stand in line together (and it was obvious it was 2 adults and 2 children) -- they would insist that we order off the kids menu when one was available. I don't get the sense that the meals are marked for children specifically.

And, of course, all of this is subject to change without notice.
