Childless Couple needs one more Dinner

We are a young (25) childless couple who is going to WDW during the first week of Sept for free dining. We will have 5 TS credits, and ADRs for:

Jiko (2 TS)
California Grill (2 TS)
Kona (1 TS, our favorite of last trip)

I'd like to make one more ADR for dinner during our trip, which we would pay OOP.

I need some suggestions and it absolutely can not be in a park. We tried to stay in the parks during our last trip, but it just got too tiring. We do the parks early morning and leave, and we don't waste money on a park hopper either.

I need a place that is good food, good atmosphere, but won't break the bank since we are paying OOP ($60 or so for 2???). I need something memorable since it will be our last night. At a resort or other Disney area where we can sit and chat, stroll around, etc. Maybe see a few fireworks in the sky or walk on a beach? Something pretty, relaxing, romantic.

Hi, I have a couple of places that would fit into your budget and still provide a nice selection and good food! The Kona Cafe at the Poly,have dinner before firework time at the MK and you can watch them from the Poly beach after dinner,the Poly is also a nice resort for a stroll.. Or the GF Cafe,again if you have dinner before the firework time you can stroll the grounds of the GF or sit inside and listen to the Orchestra and them step outside near Gasparillas and watch the MK fireworks. Or The Turf Club Bar and Grille at SSR(no fireworks) but a nice drinking area with a pool table or you can catch the boat and stroll around DTD. Joan

Thanks, we LOVE LOVE LOVE Kona, so we are eating there on our arrival night. We ended up eating there twice last trip, so maybe I should just bite the bullet and do another ADR!

What about a restaurant at one of the Epcot area/Boardwalk area resorts? You could time it to watch Illuminations and take a stroll around the Boardwalk.

What about Raglan Road over at Downtown Disney? They have great food and live music.

We also like House of Blues on the DTD West Side - another place with great food.

Beaches and Cream is a cute little soda shop at the Beach Club that has great burgers and sinful desserts (try the No Way Jose!). And once you're finished you could wander the Boardwalk and catch some of Illuminations from Epcot (you'd be able to see the higher fireworks that they set off during the show). Just remembered - you can't make ADRs at Beaches and Cream.

You could skip dinner and have a late lunch by doing afternoon tea at the Gardenview Lounge at the Grand Floridian. The Grand Tea is about $25 per person and includes a ton of food. We never need another meal for the rest of the day after having tea here.

That's all I can think of right now.

BTW, we are a couple w/out kids too. Who says Disney isn't for grown ups?

Raglan Road, someone after my own heart!

I would absolutely agree with the Raglan Road recommendation, or Rainforest Cafe. There's a Rainforest in Downtown Disney on the Marketplace side. Depends on what kind of fare you're into.

My husband and I are for now a childless couple as well; however, a lot of places we love to eat are in the park (Hollywood Brown Derby, the EPCOT restaurants.)

I love the idea of picking a DTD restaurant. Raglan Road is a great choice; I enjoyed my dinner there. I liked Bongo's Cuban Cafe but that was a while ago, and there's also Wolfgang Puck Cafe.

For something memorable, how about O'hana at the Poly? It's $25.99, including drinks, so just a touch above $60 after tip!

I hate to say this about anything Disney, ever; and RARELY am I ever disappointed by anything in WDW; however, I was extremely disappointed with the Wolfgang Puck Cafe. My husband and I went there once and vowed never to do it again.

Raglan Road will not be "romantic and relaxing." It is pretty but has become popular and the noise last month was deafening and we were there before the entertainment began.

For under $60, GF Cafe is a great idea. Citricos, Artist Point and Narcoosee's are all good choices too but would be hard to do fro under $60 without very careful ordering IMO...sharing, etc..

Isn't Kona great?

Unfortunately getting something memorable, pretty ,relaxing and romantic for $60.00 may not be be easy. O'hana is quite loud--and as BCV23 suggests, so is Raglan Road. I guess the GF Cafe is about the only spot that that would fit those specs. I can't comment on it myself as we've never eaten there.

What about Bongo's at DTD

My husband & I went there last time on our "adults only" night. It was different, and the Sangria's (sp??) were great!! We sat outside on the 2nd floor at a table overlooking the river at night, it was very pretty and romantic.

Afterwards we danced downstairs, to the salsa music from the live band.

Then you can go dancing or whatever at PI.

I would say bongos or portebello yacht club my dh and i are 25 also and we ALWAYS go to Portebello in DTD
