Childhood TV

Captain Noah (he was Philadelphia's Kangaroo knockoff), Gumby, Mr. Magoo. The Flintstones. And all the Sid and Marty Kroft weirdness. The Bugaloos. The Banana Splits. Our favorite shows were The Monkees and The Brady Bunch.

When I was real young I guess it was pretty much cartoons (Bugs Bunny, Jetsons, Flintstones, Mr Magoo, Yogi Bear, Popeye, Huckleberry Hound, Underdog, Top Cat, Clyde crashcup, Snagglepuss, Magilla Gorilla, Deputy Dawg, Tennessee Tuxedo, Beanie and Cecil, Alvin and the Chipmunks, King Leonardo, Gigantor, Peter Potamus…). Some non cartoon early fare included the little rascals, Diver Dan, and Davey and Goliath.

Some other cartoons started up a little later and I watched those too, along with some of the more kid friendly sitcoms and some dramas (things like Lassie and The Adventures of Superman reruns).

No Munsters?

Dick Van Dyke. I Love Lucy. My Mother The Car. Munsters. Adams Family. Lost In Space. Ed Sullivan.

I love them now and watch all the time, but when I was a kid I was afraid of them. LOL I used to hide behind my grandfather's chair when they came on because the show had Frankenstein in it. I know, with my sig, ironic.

Captain Kangaroo. Wonderful World of Disney. All the usual suspects for 60s night time shows. I wasn't much into cartoons but did watch the Flintstones and Bullwinkle (even had a Bullwinkle lunch box).

Howdy Doody, Mickey Mouse Club, Lone Ranger, Hopalong Cassidy, Cisco Kid, Kookla Fran & Ollie.
And I watched Captain Kangaroo every morning before I went to school, until I graduated high school.

I grew up in the 80's - the glorious reign of the 30 minute toy commercials! I watched He-Man, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, Voltron, MASK, The M&M & Mars Bar Quick Energy Chocobot Hour - basically if you could sell a toy, happy meal, or breakfast cereal with it, it was on and I was into it! 😁

In the 80's, I had what was currently on (like the ones BrianL mentioned), plus reruns of old sitcoms and old cartoons.
Early Nickelodeon was too new and had to airshows from other countries. You Can't Do That on Television was one of the best (Canada), and then some of my favorite cartoons were Danger Mouse (UK), Mysterious Cities of Gold (Japan), and the best of all, Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea (France).
MTV was also too new and had The Young Ones.
There was the usual kids shows, Electric Company, Hot Fudge, Mr. Rogers, etc.
