Childhood Cereals

Although I don't remember eating this one, I loved the commercials for Crispy Critters during the 80s with the dancing Jimmy Durante-style animal dancing and singing. They were "indubitably delicious." Anyone else remember this one? Here's a website with pictures of the commercials. http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0725/

What do you mean "Childhood" cereals. I had some Lucky Charms just the other day! We have some Count Chocula in the cupboard right now. I loved Quisp as a kid, too. I also liked Raisin Bran, and still eat that, but it has to be Kellogg's brand.

Oh, I'm with you....I still eat Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, Honeycomb, Cocoa Puffs - I could go on and on, I love cereal! But in the OP I was talking about cereals that you ate in childhood that aren't around anymore, or are hard to find like the Frankenberry and Boo Berry.

Kaboom, Qwisp, AlphaBits, Honeycomb, Count Chocula, Cap'n Crunch, and my two favorites, Life and Kix!!

My mom was strict when it came to cereal. I grew up eating Grape Nuts. When she was feeling really generous, we got Honey Nut Cheerios.
My mom was similar. Frosted Flakes were a treat (and it was because she was in the mood for it :rotfl: ). She wasn't that bad though, I occassion I did dabble in Golden Grahams and other "sugary" cereal, but it really wasn't until I was in high school. :rotfl2:

LOL Us too. I just had some Fruity Pebbles over the weekend.

Anyway, as a kid Frankenberry was my favorite. When I do manage to find it now, I stock up.

I guess I didn't realize that people can't find these anymore-of all the ones mentioned, the only one I haven't seen in our local store is Quip.

It is funny. When I read the title of this thread I instantly thought of Frankenberry and Peanut Butter Captain Crunch...I am lucky tho because at Halloween the stores carry Boo Berry Halloween cereal so I buy a box for my son.

All my life, I have loved Froot Loops and Cracklin' Oat Bran, and I still do to this day.

Just for the heck of it, one of my new favs is Oreo O's

I was never allowed to eat those exotic cereals as a kid, only things like cheerios, rice krispies, and corn flakes. I used to eat sugar smacks at summer camp though! Every now and then I buy a box and eat them all myself. I strongly resist giving my kids things like fruit loops, but give in occasionally as a treat.

Wow did the OP crack me up!
Just a few hours ago we were in our BJ's Club,
and DH & I were talking about the 3-pack of
Count Chocula, Boo Berry, and FrankenBerry (my personal fav.).
We didn't get it 'cause he's a good boy about sugary cereals,
he only eats them once in a while.
