We went to Sam's Club today, and they had a triple pack of FrankenBerry, Count Chocula, and Boo Berry. Those were some of my favorite cereals when I was growing up, especially the FrankenBerry and Boo Berry, and I haven't seen them in grocery stores in years. I had to get them, and told my DD's all about how wonderful they are. A little while ago DD wanted to try some of my "weird cereal", so I opened the bag of Boo Berry. As soon as I smelled it, I felt like I was 10 years old again! It smells exactly the same. I tasted a handful though, and I'm not sure if they are as good as I remember them being.

I also used to love "Freakies". The box had a picture of a tree with a bunch of funny looking creatures in it - the Freakies. Seems like they tasted something like Cap'n Crunch. King Vitaman used to be awesome and was another favorite of mine, but I bought some a few years ago and it was awful! I'm not sure if it was me or the cereal but something had changed!

What were your favorite cereals (or foods) as a child - that are no longer made or hard to find?

I'm not that old, only 22, so the cereals I grew up on are still available. Actually, I didnt eat cereal (with the exception of oatmeal, cream of wheat, maltomeal) until I was an adult.

I eat some childrens cereal, Caption Crunch Berries, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Smacks...

Can you believe a box of cereal is $6 and a half gallon of milk is $4.99 ?

I remember eating Freakies! Also when Cookie Crunch came out. We thought it was going to taste like chocolate chip cookies but it didn't--just tasted like cereal!!

My all time favorite was Captain Crunch. Then Peanut Butter captain crunch. I must have eaten a ton of that stuff!!

My favorite childhood cereals are still around. Froot Loops, Trix - but what bugs me, is my old favorites like Super SUGAR Crisp and SUGAR Smacks can't be called that anymore - now they're Super GOLDEN Crisp and just Smacks. Like we can't figure out there's sugar in them. ;)

That's funny, I just bought Capt'n Crunch for the first time in many years, just because I loved it as a kid, and wanted my kids to try it, and have some for myself.

I loved Freakies, and can still remember the song from the Freakies commercial - "we never miss a meal, 'cause we love our cer-e-eal"! Quisp was another favorite of mine.

King Vitamin
Have breakfast with the king!
King Vitamin!
La la la la la la
Has a la la la la
and all the vitamins you need!
La la la la la la.....
.....erm, I forgot most of the words I guess.

I was just getting ready to post about Super SUGAR Crisp. You beat me to the punch! Now we have to have the PC names ;) I just loved that stuff.

I also loved Rice Krinkles. This was Post's version of Rice Krispies (Kellogg's, of course) but they were lightly sugar coated.

My mom was strict when it came to cereal. I grew up eating Grape Nuts. When she was feeling really generous, we got Honey Nut Cheerios.

Fruit Islands Cereal---remember King Uh-Yumma-Yumma?

I loved this stuff! It was a special treat our mom let us have on weekends--yum!

:rotfl2: I was just in Sam's yesterday looking at that exact box. I love Boo Berry cereal!!!!! I didn't remember liking (or even trying) the others so I skipped. I don't need that much sugary cereal in my house. What I do when I'm craving Boo Berry is put fresh blueberries in my cherrios. Tastes just like Boo Berry with probably 1/100 of the sugar. :teeth:

I was a weird kid, my favorite cereal was Product 19, no sugar. My second favorite was Honeycomb. I still buy it now, I like how it comes in a big jumbo box!

I loved king vitamin, and it did taste like capn crunch. I remember eating and loving quisp also. although i cant remember for the life of me what it tasted like.

My two favorites were Honeycombs and Alpha Bits. Unfortunately, over the years, I've grown to have an intolerance to oats, and both are filled with Oat Flower. I'm kind of bummed, since I still sometimes get a hankering for Honeycombs. :-(

I was wierd, I liked Raisin Bran.

I never liked sugared cereal. I ate shredded wheat, cheerios and my dad's family recipe ~ saltine crackers crushed in a bowl, with milk and a tiny bit of sugar. Yum.... I still eat that one and so does DS 12!

I used to like Quisp and Capt Crunch with Crunch Berries....I remember a ceral called Kaboom or KaBlam or something like that...it was green and if you ate enough of it you could make your crap come out green....that was the big joke when I was a kid!

Does anyone remember the cereal that had a cow on the front......it was in the shape of balls, either pink or brown, and they turned the milk into strawberry flavored milk or chocolate favored milk? It is really driving me crazy that I can't think of the name of it. I think it was a female cartoon looking cow.....AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! please, help me. :confused3
