Our family is going to WDW over Thansgiving and will be taking our 20-month old DGD Addison. My question is the use of childcare services offered by Disney or private childcare providers that come to the resorts. We are interested in something like this while we go to MVMCP which goes until midnight. Has anyone ever used any of these services?

I haven't used the services, but I have always wondered. I am kind of a paranoid mom so I don't think I could. If I had several kids it would be better because then they could help watch each other, but with just one I would be too nervous. (My dad calls me "mother hen" and no I don't like that)

The child is too young for Disney's services, which are kids clubs. We've used Fairy Godmothers a half-dozen times and always been pleased. Disney recommends Kids Nite Out, which you can check out at kidsniteout.com.

FG is a family run business...no web site, uniforms or paperwork. This bothers some folks, but not me.

I used Fairy GodMothers for my 14 month DD, we had the same nanny in our room every day for 5 days, she was awesome and we had no issues. A word of warning, the lady who owns FG is gruff and seems totally unorganized on the phone. This has been the 1 reoccuring topic I have read about FG.

Do a forum search and you will find lots of good things about FG.

Good Luck

We have used Kids Night Out several times now and have always had a wonderful experience. We have a 1 year old...who was 5 months the 1st time we used the service. Don't laugh but we were so paranoid leaving the sitter that we "stalked" her! We didn't want to leave her in the room alone (hello?) so we paid for her admission to the park...ended up stalking her...then realized we were nuts. So we brought her back and she was absolutely wonderful. The last trip we had Summer...she was also wonderful. She is younger...if you want an older sitter,Jannette...she was also wonderful. FYI...we had our great dane with us and they had no problem with that either. Great company...great caregivers!!! Have fun...and no stalking! :wave2:

I too have used kids nite out. Probably about 10 times now I think they are wonderful. I feel very comfortable with them. We used them when we went with my sister and her family my DS was 9 mos old and niece was 16 mos old. Both babies were really happy and best of all so were Mommy and Daddy. Its nice to get a little break. We used them last week when my DS was 14 mo old. It was a little harder to leave because I felt a little better when he was w/ my niece and not all alone but we got over that quickly my son was once again very happy. We came home to him getting read to. It was very nice. I would not hesitate to use them again.
