Our family is going to WDW over Thansgiving and will be taking our 20-month old DGD Addison. My question is the use of childcare services offered by Disney or private childcare providers that come to the resorts. We are interested in something like this while we go to MVMCP which goes until midnight. Has anyone ever used any of these services?

at 20-mo i don't think she'll be old enough for regular Disney services. (i think they have to be 3 and potty trained.)

My DD went to a couple of the clubs and always had fun and was asleep when we picked her up. BTW i think i remember them only being open until midnight. If you are in the parks until midnight, you might not be back to your hotel until 1 am believe it or not depending on transportation.

There are private services who come to your room for the younger crowd. I never had the chance to use them but i no that others around here have.

She can't use the official Disney kids clubs; kids have to be 4+ and potty trained to do that. There are private companies that will send sitters to your room, but they are unaffliated with Disney. I would check the family board.

eta: thought I'd better warn you: you could get some negative comments about using a sitter while at Disney. There are some people who are very strongly against such a thing.

There are sitters but you may want to rethink not taking her to the Christmas party it is very kid friendly and she would enjoy it. I'd just take a stroller and let her crash in it when she is ready. That is what we did with my son when he was 2 1/2, he loved it by the way. Save the sitter night for going to a nice adult dinner IMO.

We used Fairy Godmothers once a few years ago -- I thought the woman they sent was wonderful. :goodvibes She was a grandmother herself and really had the kids at ease with her. :thumbsup2

We used Kids Nite Out in July 2005 when we went to WDW with our friends. We had a great girl, Sam and she came to our room at Boardwalk armed with games, activities and they LOVED her! She took the kids to the game room and for ice cream at Seashore Sweets. We were having dinner at Flying Fish and we actually saw her with them, they were happy and behaving so we were happy!

Here is their website. Kids Nite Out
