Hi I wonder if any one could help me (sorry if this has been posted somewhere already).

We are visiting in October and staying offsite but we would like to treat my father in law to dinner at Victoria and Alberts.

Can anyone tell me a little more about the childcare centres in the resorts. Are they good? Prices? did your kids enjoy it? that sort of thing. My little boy is 5 and is quite shy, we did consider booking a room and getting a babysitter but I like this better as he enjoys being with other children. Honestly I would be happy to stay home and let my husband and father in law go alone but my husband really wants me to go also.

When you google it looks as though there was one in Grand Floridian however Disney's own webpage doesn't mention it, has it been closed? If it is still open does it take non resort guests.

Or as Polynesian is the next closest resort does anyone know if it takes non resort guests?

I'm going to call tomorrow just wondered if anyone here knew.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

The childcare center at GF closed several years ago. Yes, there is one at the Poly. My kids haven't been to that one though. They have been to the one at WL and BC and loved it! The CM's there are awesome with the kids.

The Poly will be the most convenient location to GF. It's called Lilo's Playhouse and my DS8 absolutely loves it! He started going to the WDW kids' clubs when he was 6 and it is one of his favorite things to do in WDW. In fact, on our trips, we always build in at least two visits to the kids' club for him. He's an only child and it's a fun way for him to unwind after a day of walking in the parks and meet some new friends.

Lilo's Playhouse began a new format last year. It's a $55 flat fee for the entire evening (I believe hours are 4:30 pm to midnight) and it includes dinner (you get to pick the meal from a list of choices when you arrive with your child), a snack, structured and unstructured activities and a visit from a character (I believe at Poly they have either Capt. Hook or Stitch visit, but that may change based on availability). It is VERY secure (they have a locked gate that only the children can go through once you fill out the paperwork). They do not let any non-CM's into the area and you have to present a photo ID and their paperwork when you pick your child up. The CM's are excellent. I've seen many a shy child go in and a CM is always on hand to ease them into the environment. They have toys and activities for all ages.

I would definitely call and book a spot in advance if you have your V&A reservation.

We love the childcare centers...sad my kids are close to aging out of them. We have not been since they changed format, but it sounds fantastic as they are now! I would not hesitate to send your son...it really is a vacation within a vacation - for everyone :)
