We are planning on touring SSR, and discussing a possible purchase on our next vacation. We have 2 DDs (ages 5, 3), and I was wondering if any sort of childcare is offered for the duration of the sales presentation, or do we need to make our own arrangements. Thanks!

In Oct 2003 when we went to the sales office at BW they had a childcare room with toys and crafts. I don't know about now you may want to call and check. We already owned but they had representations of all the DVC resort rooms so we wanted to check them all out.

We visited our guide about 2 weeks ago at SSR and had our boys 5 and 7 with us. They have a really nice Supervised childcare facility with a separate section to keep smaller children from the older children. It was very large.

There were computers and video games and television. Lots of activities. It was designed with children in mind and is very colorful.

My boys had a great time and were not ready to leave until our guide told them it was time to visit the Ice Cream Parlor!

I saw lots of families with children of all ages visiting the Preview Center (on a previous trip) and we definitely needed the time to discuss things with our guide, so the center was great!

I'm 99% sure they will have childcare services there. We bought at SSR during our last trip at DW, and we had the sales presentation at the Boardwalk. Childcare is so important, this way the adults can spend the time 'seriously' looking over the resort w/o having to deal with smaller kids getting bored etc, that may cause you to leave the presentation. I must admit that the childcare services, during our presentation, were fantastic. They had tons of xbox and PS2 games, crayons, and other fun things for the kids to play with. The woman watching the kids was great. My kids were sorry we came back so soon..but we made them smile again when we told them we became a DVC family!!! Hopefully you will too ! Good luck !

This was a concern to us when we toured, etc. We are very funny about who we leave our daughter with. They were FANTASTIC!! Lots of toys, coloring pages, computers, disney movies and they also give you a beeper so that if they need you they can beep you. My daughter did not want to leave there!! My thought is they would be crazy not to offer this. Our minds could not have focused and my husband would not have jumped to say yes if she were there needing to potty, etc.......

We just got back from our vacation--We purchased DVC a couple of years ago, & on this last trip the kids were asking us to go back & talk about buying more pts. so they could go back to that cool place & play!!

Thanks for all the replies! This makes me feel a lot better; I was wondering how we would be able to give all our attention to our guide with our girls there.

They want you to pay attention, and they understand children. You'll get help with your kids.

I'm sure the chilcare at SSR preview center is as good as it was when we toured and bought last July at BWV. Our son (now five) still lets us know that he wants to go back to play and get cotton candy when we leave. Have tried to tell him that it has been replaced with ice cream and he will have none of it...lik emost things Disney childcare while they sell you a timeshare is first rate.
